I'd get a new one...

Why risk blowing up a $100-$300 pcb when you can just buy a $25 PSU...

will it work???

Should work for 99% of the Jamma Cabs out there.

There will be some Crimping or Soldering Involved....

get an old computer AT power supply...Sometimes you can get them for next to nothing from mom and pop computer tech shops...That is what I have in my Neo MVS4.. works like a charm..

On an AT computer power supply (I refuse to say PSU because I hate that acronym) there's several +5's and +12's. +5 is RED, +12 is YELLOW

tie all the reds together, and the yellows together, then attach them to the Neo Geo (also with all its reds and yellows tied) Basically by tying multiple reds
and yellows together you allow greater amperage to be drawn. Of course don't
connect reds TO yellows.

A Neo doesn't take much though, it's just an old 14mHZ 68k CPU. But it still
kicks ass. That said, you could get +5 and +12 from a simple hard-drive
connector off the power supply, but it's best to hook up as many power lines
as possible.
