I played some NG.commers before- but I don't see any of you guys on this week so far. SNK, Samurai Showdown, Playmore.... Anyone?

C'mon, show your love for Samurai Showdown.

Get the fuck on and play- If I play anyone who I know is from NG.com- I will play 10+ matches. The system is a little fucked- and rewards players who play 1 match at a time- but shit- just play and we can do something that..... GASP does something for the Neo.

I can't find this in any store. At first I wasn't going to get it because I don't really care for it, but I figured it'd be fun to play people here in Neo games. I'm about to go out of town for a few days so I plan on checking all the stores there and if I happen to come across it I'll pick it up. If you want some free wins add my tag - Wes Paul. I'm guaranteed to suck at this game.

I guess I this is probably typical. My dumbass gamestop has 4 boxes still in the new release section. But I can believe that there are plenty of places that act like this game is a non-entity.

And trust me- it's a game with an easy learning curve. You might suck for a day- but that can change like, in the next day.

Just remember to watch the ranks- if you don't know a top ranker- it may be best to decline to play a match- they tend to play for ranking only.

I will play against any NG.commer as long as I'm able- I won't decline matches.

It's a great, though unbalanced game.

'neobuyer666' live tag.

I am usually on sometime between 6pm - 2 am PST (depending on the day of the week and work and all)

I hope everyone here on live can get this game- it's only $29.99 brand new- and I'm sure it'll be $14.99 used soon.

I know it's $24.99 used now- but it won't be soon.

Just buy it new for $30 or wait a month- but please guys- this is a NEO GEO game. Not true SNK- but how many LIVE games are?

Any advice on gameplay needed? I'll give ya the 411.

The problem here also is that it's a time thing in some ways. If no one plays, the existing user base will get bored and then new players will find less matches. And old players won't hook up with new.

SNK/Playmore/Delaymore needs you guys.

Uggh.

Man there are some annoying players online.

I really just want to play the Neo folk here.

I played some of the worst spammy Yumeji Kurokochi players ever yesterday.

Tonight will be good man...we gotta throw down some serious Tenka.
I see new things in this sucker every time I play, and it's been a LONG time since I found myself playing a fighter by myself just to find stuff in it. DAMN good!

Yumeji and Sankuro are the worst- but Yumegi isn't as bad as Sankuro. I have noticed a few cheap tactic things- i.e.: Hanzo's constant disappear/throw game, and Yumeji's 'no recovery time' moves, and EVERYTHING Sankuro does, and a few others- but if you learn what to look for- the worst you can do is lose a match- just remember the names of the players who play cheap.

I hope by now everyone knows Sankuro is a joke character. As I'm sure Loopz can point out- Tenka FIXES this and many other imbalances. If Tenka were online in the US- I'd play the shit out of it.

If I see anybody on from NG.com (although I don't use a headset to talk, I would if I still had it) I will play as much as time allows. No cheap stuff. I will let you pick up your weapons (not common online unfortunately) and I won't keep picking my best character over and over again.

You have a skewed view of what cheap is. Some people are just good at certain things, and some people don't learn and constantly fall for the same trash. A good player will get labeled cheap, but cheap is stuff like infinites and other garbage, and even so, some of those are so fucking hard to do, I even have respect for that. (Even though its cheap, because of the difficulty of some things)

A example of something I respect is Chin's infinite in 98. That is one of the hardest things in any game to do.

BTW, I was a SSV player for a short while, I actually like the game, but its terribly incomplete, it has a fun element all its own though. Suija is my favorite and best character in this, since Bust Ukyo sprouted a V-gina.

That's all fine and good D

But play me and then talk about it.

No actual support for an actual SNK/Playmore game? It's cheap for christsakes!

Maybe I'm just not feeling this game. It's very hard to get into. Are there any tips as to how I should be playing this? The game feels extremely loose and sometimes it looks like some hits just go completely through others and don't do shit. That, and being able to get hit out of your rage special blows. You'd figure something like that would carry some invincibility.

What am I missing in this game? If anybody can help me I'd appreciate it. I played it a bit yesterday and this morning and I had the same feelings as when I played the rom the first time.

Only thing I can say Wes is to not think of SF/KOF/CVS2.

SSV is more about set ups for a big blow and strategy.

For example when I use Hanzo I run a poke game and then try to trick my opponent with the teleports and projectiles. When I get close I use the piledriver.

You free Sunday? I would love to play some of this with you.

Wes, play me and you can get the 'feel' of any particular character. It's NOT entirely sensible from a normal standpoint- some characters recovery time is radically different from a few others- as well and response time/speed of attacks and damage done.

It's sort of a languid, extremely off kilter system- but since it's swords and all, it's not too bad.

It's NO Street Fighter to be sure.

One of the keys to enjoying this game online is to play 'cool' players who play for fun. I don't mind throwing a round if I feel I have my opponent overmatched. And sometimes I lose anyway. The game has a lot of stuff to do- so find good players, and ignore 1-off match (rank) players and you can have a good time.

I am usually playing between 6-7pm and 1-2am PST- usually for a good 1/2 hour all the way to maybe 2 hours a day so far.

It's SamSho.

OK

I will admit, I do not play every character in SamShoV, mainly Yunfei, Galford. Jubei and sometimes Hanzo or Rasetsumaru (for fun)

But there is some rediculous cheapness in certain characters- to the point that they have a really stupid advantage over some others.

(And LWK- don't give me this strategy crap- ci? Strategy is of course important- but if you are playing at a handicap- it's a fucking handicap)

Case in point: Mina. Fuuuuuuck, I played this motherfucker tonight that was shooting such a wall of stupid arrows I thought I was playing Blazing Star for a minute. I was like, damn, this guy is fast. Now keep in mind I had never used or controlled Mina, so I assumed that many of her laserbeam arrows involved joystick/pad input. He just would sit on the corner and fire off arrows so quickly Hanzo couldn't turn invisible once during a match without getting knocked with 1 or even 2 arrows. Keep in mind, some of her arrows do up to a third of your life bar.

So, feeling pissed off, I went into training mode and picked Mina for the first time. HER FUCKING ARROW ATTACKS ARE JUST BUTTON PRESSES. NO 'moves' REQUIRED.

And let's say she shoots 30 arrows at you in a round- you get to hear a cutesy magical little caracter make a grating anime noise 60 TIMES in that round.

Also- Yumeji has invulnerable periods while 'he' transforms and after 'he' transforms. Meaning- unless you time it just right- he doesn't get hit- even if you could hit every other character in the game in the same situation.

But Mina- rediculous bullshit. It's a SamSho game- not Gunstar Fucking Heroes. All you do is go in the corner and press the slash buttons in some fairly random pattern and you can win.

To beat a little bitch Mina player you have to be ALL OVER THEM- but Mina can throw obviously AND has a move (thankfully a pad input!) that not only propels her to the opposite corner of the stage- but also shoots you in the process.

No man should ever, EVER pick Mina. I am making that bitch into meat from now on.

Mina isnt a threat... Destroy her, that what I do whenever I see one. If you can control your temper and your tempo you can win easily. I think I post about that in gamefaqs message board. Now I am looking for a PS2 to Xbox adapter for my RAP stick, just wait...
