Just saw the news and the pissing of the pants began.

They've added some new features:
------------------------------------------
* Ad hoc multiplayer
* Two players in Power Stone and up to four in Power Stone 2 can battle it out to see who will reign supreme!
* Game sharing function allows up to three others to play using a single UMD disc
* Wacky new weapons join the existing arsenal of both titles for added comical mayhem
* Training mode – practice makes perfect as beginners and experts alike can hone their skills and test drive items and weapons
* Screenshot mode – pause the game during a fight and adjust the camera to take a perfect snapshot to commemorate the glory moments
* Upgraded camera system – not only will players get a wider view of the action, tailored for the PSP system’s widescreen, but they can also toggle between wide, mid and close range views of the action at any time
* Unlockable bonuses including weapons, items and more

Although this isn't much of a "collection", as there are only two games in the series, it's nice to see it getting ported to another system. I don't own a PSP, but this, Gradius Collection, Capcom Classics, and the redone Megaman X are going to force me to buy a crappy PSP.

Played these games for many hours on the Dreamcast, very tempting.

I really enjoyed Power Stone 1 and 2. However, I was really hoping that they would put out a Power Stone 3 that included everything from 1 and 2, as well as a new game. I would have prefered a console but this would be tempting.

now this is a good thing, even though it's another port. I loved Powerstone...

They are cool games, but the PSP is starting to turn into something of a joke with all these ports of old software.

The GBA and the DS (to a lesser extent) do the exact same thing.

Greaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaat !!!! I loved power stone :D

Btw, i nealy always bought handheld consoles for ports and sequels (marioland and tetris on GB, Metal Slug KOFR2 and Puzzle bobble on NGPC,, Mario Advance FZERO and COTM on GBA, Ridge Racers and Minna no Golf on PSP, castlevania DS and Mariokart on ds).

Sure afterwards i happened to get original stuff but my main interest in handhelds is to find the proven good franchises on the go.

Amen.

Man all these fighters for the PSP. I think I'm in heaven. If only SNK Playmore could port a 2D fighter.

Preach on brother, preach on

I thought that SONY was stating a "No Direct Ports" Policy when they released the PSP?

Nothin wrong with ports as long as they're good ones. If I had a PSP I'd be picking this one up.

The first Powerstone was great, the second a bit...hmmmm.

Will they be including the VMU mini-games, though?
