Here's where my other thread left off and I figured I would get more responses over here....any thoughts would be appreciated.

Well, I was wondering if I can get a higher res from my naomi setup on my monitor that runs 15-24-31 khz.

I can't find any type of vga input on the monitor....

can I get a higher res than standard through the jamma edge?

What are my options?

thanks!

standard and medium resolutions come from the jamma connector (though I don't think naomi supports medium res). High res comes from the vga connector.

Since my monitor can take 31khz through the jamma edge, if I split the signal somehow and routed it into the jamma edge via a home made adapter/connector, could it be displayed?

Would this even be possible with the vga signal?

Are you 100% sure that you're getting 31khz from the jamma connector? To my knowledge, the 31khz resolution needs more than the standard 5 wires to display.

my monitor supports vga through my xtom 3d game....

Klov says it's vga and it goes right through the jamma edge.....

if i remember right, jamma is RGB + composite sync + GND
where VGA is RGB + GND + H sync + V sync. so VGA has two sync inputs

I've split the sync before....could I ccombine them instead? I'll search the monitor better tonight and see what I can see.

Are you sure you're running 31.5 kHz off your edge connector. KLOV says that it could also run low res. Check your documentation and make sure that it doesn't have a dip switch or softdip to change your output. It may also help if we knew your monitor make and model #. I didn't notice it in your quoted thread.

Well, it's made by pentranic. Can't really see any #'s. can't get a good view of much from the sides or the back on this cab.

I do know that xtom 3d boots up in the high res mode and you have to go into the test mode and change the game to boot up in low res. When I boot it up in this cab it starts up right away. Also, when I go to test mode and do the res switch, it stays visible in both modes, which it didn't on the standard res monitor.

edit..

I couldn't find any info on this stuff and it not making sense to a lot of people....makes it make sense, lol...I bet its just 24khz.
