Hello guys & gals.... well here's my dilema...i have found a dedicated 'Lordsvale' neogeo cabinet...(the type with the green stripe controller panel)....game select button present etc....but this machine has a MV-1F .....i would like to fit a 4-slot, are they just plug & play?..or do you need extra w/looms & modifications etc?.
Thanks for your time.

You would have to hook up an additonal wire and button for the 'select' feature.

Try posting this over in The Neo-Geo Tech Support Forum...they can definitely help you out there ;)

I can help you a lot, as that is exactly the swap I did with my cabinet.

The differences are:
- Sound is wired stereo through the JAMMA harness, not mono. (Although if the cabinet is wired in stereo through a 4 pin connector, that can just plug in right to the 4 slot with no modification necessary.
- You will have to add a SELECT button.
- The Service Mode button is wired to a different pin on the JAMMA harness (due to the sound swiping that pin.

As already stated, herdmvs is an excellent resource for info. It helps to print out the JAMMA diagram for both types of board from theit respective manuals to more easily see the differences.

The Lordsvale should have originally had a 4-slot anyway, hence the select button already being there. You just have to swap the mobos.

Many thanks for all your help guys.....i won the cab from the ol' bay the other day & i got to say i cannot wait to pick it up next week :D !!!.....this will be my first Genuine MVS cab..so i will probably be making a few more posts around here to find out more about them......you see i have always been into NGH/AES....& i never really had the space for anything like this....but i always wanted one...in the early nineties when these were commonplace in our local arcades...i spent alot of time & money playing them......ahh the memories!!.
