First, I feel stupid. However in all reality I have never had an MVS arcade cab before.

I just got my 4 slot cab today. Took a lunch break from work to be there for the delivery. I unwrapped it and it was awesome. In great shape. I popped in a game and plugged it in. Then fired it up. No problems with anything, the screen is like crisp and clear.

My stupid question/s is, how do I set the game/machine to allow unlimited credits?
LOL, gawd I am a tard is what you're prolly thinking.

But seriously, I don't know how to do that and I had to use .50 to actually test it and play my Blazing Star. So in anycase how do I do that.

In addition, the 2nd player stick is notchy feeling. Now I opened the controls up and looked and it appears that the square plastic box that touches the left/right up/down connections is just off by a bit. It appears that there is a c-clip that keeps this plastic box from sliding/falling off. I assume I can back that c-clip up a little making the box in perfect connection? Would I be okay with that?

Cleaning the machine itself. How or what is the bast way as to not ruin or discolor the cabs red and logos?

As for the screen/glass front. There are some stickers that have .50 to play etc. etc. what is the best way to get that off without scratching it up? Razor blade I assume? But what about the tape gunk?

Can I turn the system off and on as offten as I like. Or should I leave it on 24-7? Reason I ask is, I will be leaving soon for Japan for 6 months and would rather this not be on that entire time whle I am gone. However before I go and when I come back, can I leave this on daily without fear of burning an image on the screen?

I know these may sound like easy things to figure out. And I am smart enough to know what I would like to do, but I also know that there are certain things you shouldn't do. So before I destroy or ruin this "in great conditon" cab, please throw me some advise on what to do properly and what to expect.

Well, thanks in advance for any help. And I will be sure to post pictures of it in the general thread when I get home from work.

You need to flip one of the dip switches on the motherboard (#8 I believe). Check out the manuals at http://www.hardmvs.com. They will have the definative answer for you.

Congrats on the new cab!!!! I just got my first neo cab about a month ago. As for your questions.

Unlimited Credits
There is a dip switch on the motherboard I think its the 6th on that turns on free play once that’s on you don’t need any credits. You can double check the hard dip reference in the diag mode (turn on the machine with no carts in).

Joystick prob
Not sure on that one you may have a gunked up stick any case you can replace them fairly cheep for American style you can get a happ from http://www.happcontrols.com/ if its another kind you want I am not sure.

Cleaning the Machine.
I used a damp cloth with water and a little Windex then wiped it dry right after and had no problems. You don’t want to use anything to abrasive on the silk-screened white writing. I would also consider vacuuming the inside of the cab it its from an arcade or public area. They can be quite nasty inside and from all the moving can shift of that stuff around.

Cleaning the glass.
For this a razor works nice but don’t do it dry use some alcohol based cleaner that way you don’t scratch the screen.

As for the long storing
You can leave it off its no big deal my cab stays off when I don’t play. If you are home though and want to leave it on you can. There is no real danger of screen burn unless you got a hinky cart that locks up.

Very good info so far. Thanks to all. I will certainly use this info.

As for the controller, it's really hard to describe. It you can picture this...you know how you can lift the stick up and it has spring tension? Well when you release that the stick goes back to normal right? Now, imagine now you are looking at the stick from under the control panel. You'll notice there is a triangle/box that actually touches other switches/connections for left/right up/down. What is happening appears that the box (when the stick has no tension) appears just slightly bellow the 4 switches and are not exactly touching. Now if I pull up on the stick it touches them perfectly. So based off this, it appears that I have to raise the box up a bit to accomplish this perfect connection. And what holds this in place appears to be a c-clip, and I would think I just have to push that c-clip up a bit to keep that box in perfect connection.

I didn't really have a lot of time to check this out. It was just a quick assumption. I will look at this more when I get home from work in a few hours.

Most certainly. I have to get it upstairs with a dolly to my second bedroom. that should be a fun adventure all in itself.

I hope that my other games work with this. I have MS5 and RoTD and Shock Troopers also. I just hope the newer ones work. We'll see when I get home.

Use two C-clips. The one-slot I just got had this problem and it was an easy fix.

The spacer within your second joystick is most likely worn on one end due to excessive use (a common problem). Sometimes just flipping the spacer fixes the problem (that is if your controller is a superstick or similar). Otherwise, a simple and fast solution is taking off the C-clip, insert a thin washer, then put the C-clip back in place. As the others said, DIP #7 is free play mode and congrats on your Neo cabinet. May you have hours of fun on it :)

As for cleaning, a soft nylon bristle brush and some Simple Green works wonders to get off the nastiest yellow crud from the white graphics...
