Just got the kit from yaton (new cart, does not appear to be a boot) but here is the problem...
On my 2 slot when I perform different jump moves, the screen will display strange graphical glitches, make wierd tones, and then reset the mvs board. I pulled the cart, verified that the cart is not a boot, contacts are clean, and I have no clue as to what the problem is...Out of the 13 mvs carts I have, this is the only one that does this and I checked the rail voltage (it is ok)...any ideas???

Which MVS board are you using? I think some older boards have difficulty playing newer games.

2 slot in a gold cab -- 100% original except for buttons. I haven't had problems with RoTD, but that is the only other playmore/snk game I own.

I see. What kind of bios are you using? I should have asked in my previous post.

I think the new Unibios should clear up some issues with some MVS boards.

Using the standard bios. Thought about the unibios, but I understand there is problems with some games with it (or at least from Raz's site it sounds that way) which has put me off from getting it for the time being since most of the problems are with games I own.

There arn't any problem with any games as far as I know at present with the latest Universe Bios when playing game in Arcad mode on a 2 SLOT. Im not sure the Universe Bios would solve your current kof problems though.

Are you 100% certin the game is not a boot?

No, not 100% it looks legit and yaton advertised it as new kit 100% original and all serials match up...I will post pics of it later today. And as far as the unibios goes, I just reread your known issues section and apparently misread it the first time and will be purchasing a couple from you Raz.

After playing the game some more, I noticed that the problem seems to occur more with jump moves where you jump and then perform a special...is it posible that I might be making the cart jiggle enough to reset? I am a little rough when playing fighters due to the frantic timing of some of the moves.

I have reset the cab before by slapping the control panel after losing a tight match on KOF97, that is why I was wondering if that was a possibility.

Brand new carts (like that KOF2k3) have some sort of film / coating on the contacts left over from manufacturing. They look squeaky clean but they're not really making good contact. Insert / remove / wiggle it a few times and maybe clean the contacts with alcohol. It's probably just a connection problem.

And yes, shaking the board / cart while playing will cause all kinds of glitches and resets. I had a dog walk past my board one time just close enough to shake the floor a little and the game I was playing hung.

Maybe it's a stupid question, but have you only the kof inserted in your 2 slot,
or is there any other game ? I've read that sometime there were conflict with
some games when present at the same time on multislots mvs...

Here are the pics, just tried scrubbing the contacts with an eraser and will try playing the game some more to see if that helped. Just got this camera, so I apoligize for the quality -- still figuring it out.

Cart looks legit..

Those connectors don't look clean enough though..they should look like this..

Make sure to check that your Jamma harness is on right/tight.....and the connectors are clean..
By hitting the cab the harness might be jumping/losing connection....as I feel the cart is doing too..

Does the cart slide into the mobo real easy..or does it go in tight..?
Are the pcb boards in the cart wobbly or real tight..The case might be to tight on the carts pcbs causing them to warp..

Trust me, they are REALLY clean, as in super shiny, never been inserted into a MVS shiny...as I said brand spanking new. Hitting the contacts with an eraser seems to have done the job. Have played about 20 rounds with my son and it didn't reset, so I think the film on the contacts was the correct answer as of now.

It's 100% legit as my KOF2K3 is the same from a new kit.
