I have this Goldstar 3D0 # QDO101. (stop laughing :lolz: )
Works sometimes but often will not eject the tray. the "access" green led does not illuminate at times. It does not seem to be a mech issue with the CD mech.
Anyone had experience with these ?

The goldstar 3do is the MOST unreliable of all the 3do models manufactured, and the problem you describe is unfortunatly fairly common... My advice is, if you are a gamer, just pick up a Panasonic FZ-1 on ebay. They are very reliable and high quality, and you get them cheap unboxed.

Good luck.

I have a panisonic slide tray and a goldstar top loader I was thinking about getting rid of...PM me if interested -- will gladly trade for mvs games. Both systems in great working order...just don't have time to play em.

Dont you mean panasonic top loader? the only 3do machine made as a toploader was the panasonic fz-10 as far as i know, and i like to think of myself as quite knowledgeable when it comes to 3do :)

chris1, i see you are a member here as well as on assembler, cool, never knew that before!

ttooddyy,

Take off the front cover of the drive tray... it just pops up & off... then listen to the drive as you try to eject. If you barely hear a little motor spinning but the drive doesn't open then take it apart & replace the little belt on the eject motor.

You can get replacment belts at most electronics supply stores... (NOT Radio Shack..., but a real parts store)

My mistake, it is a FZ10...I have several goldstar controllers, must be where I got confused. They haven't been pulled out to play in some time now.

The tray is driven by gears, there is no belt.

The motor does not attempt to drive. Its almost as if the eject button is faulty (its not though)

The "access" green led does not light up at times, not sure what this means, I thought the access indicator had something to do will disc loading ?

Intermittently the unit works fine.

Yeah. Get a panasonic fz-1. Thing works forever and is built like a freaking tank.

I have a mint one boxed and it has never failed me. About 90 games too.

I would like to fix this Goldstar 3D0 # QDO101 :loco:

For your 3DO repair needs, this is the only place i know of that can fix it. May be others but i know 100% this one will. Question is if the cost of repair is worth it considering prices on used consoles.
