I have the 4 slot marquee LED panels in my cabinet.
They look intact with no cracks in the solder and nothing looks broken.

I was wondering what the pin-outs were for the MV-ELA LCD Circuit Board.
The mini pcb looks fine, no burn markings or anything, is there anyway to test it?

I am getting voltage to the board, as I checked the wire harness that plugs into it from the main MVS4 board. I put the VOM on the solder joints beside the 1st LCD pad and i do not get a reading, So I am suspecting its the MV-ELA being the problem...

Thanks

Note

99% the the bulbs themselves-MV-ELD panels are Dead..and need replacing..if you get no light.

I have a similar problem with my 4 slot. Two of my four panels light up at the edges very lightly. Is there a way to replace the bulbs and if so where can I get them?

You can get new panels from someone on the board here... search the archives and you'll find it... They are new, custom made panels.

I wonder tho... how hard it would be to retrofit them with some frosted acrylic panels and some LEDs... You could change out the LEDs with different colors and you could avoid that obnoxious whine that occurs as the EL-panels get old.

Just a cautionary note on the inverter output, the ac is around 3.6 kHz at 100 volts peak to peak. If you get across it - it hurts :loco:

So the panels run 100 volts each? I thought about using the driver board and replace the LCD panels with other lights such as LEDs or little bulbs.. I was also looking on the net for a little schematic for a simple light selector. I was thinking that with a little selector circuit, you can have the button wired right to the game select button so when u push it, it will then select the light or a relay to turn on a bulb.. Maybe a 555 timer circuit of some sort with only the number of lights needed..I would need 4 since i have a mvs4 mobo.

What do you guys think of this idea? I am not the best at electronics so we all may need to work together to see if we can get an alternative light selecting source to work..

Yes, thats peak to peak, the frequency worked out to be about 3.6 kHz. I scoped it one time.
If you get across it you will know, ouch :(

edit. there was a thread some time ago where a member devized a circuit for switching LEDs in place of the lumi panels. You could switch arrays. I am looking for that thread. Chris might know ?
