i was going to akihabara today and I stopped by Tokyo station and decided to check out those download stations. Tokyo station had 2 of them. They are just like bulletin baord advertisements on the wall that you stand next to and download. The first one I ended up at had mario kart, that english tutor game and that adult training game. The DS recognized the demos really quickly and to download them only took a matter of seconds. I was impressed.

I already have mario kart so I saw no point in trying it that so I gave my girlfriend a chance to try the english tutor and adult training game. From what I could tell in what we did in the demo, the english tutor would say english words or phrases and you used the touch screen to spell out what they said. For the Adult training game it would ask you to write certain kanji and it would tell you how well you wrote it and would tell you what you did wrong or right.

Unfortunately the second download station which had animal crossing and that pokemon puzzle game wouldn't work but when I got to akihabara a couple of the stores had some as well. Mostly the same stuff but they also had some namco game where basically it showed a picture on each screen and you had to circle the differences.

I was impressed with the speed of the downloads but not so much the games that I could try. Although with time that will improve.

Does it work like DS Download play, where if you close the DS it stays there but if you turn it off it loses the demo? Same thing I guess but I take it it's only one demo at a time via this method yea?

Yeah thats exactly what it's like. You just walk close to the station and click download play and it displays a list of the demos you can play but once you turn off your system their gone.

yea, that aint too much a problem since you could just close the lid
and it automatically sleeps.
that's cool. when they start distributing these here in the states like
at game stop or walmarts or something it'll be great.
