Would this work for a neo controller extension?

No. The high-density 15 pin is smaller (the size of a 9 pin serial port) than the neo's connector. There was a thread around here with a link to some good, cheap extensions. I'll see if I can find it (if no one else beats me to it).

Edit: here's one thread. The cords in that thread are pretty good but shipping costs are too high to make a bulk order (reasonable enough for me to order 4, though). Those also have to be trimmed on the female end to fit in the Neo's controller port but it's no big deal ... I had mine done in about 5 minutes with a pocket knife and they turned out clean.

Someone around here found some that were cheap and long enough to use without being trimmed but I couldn't find that thread.
