This is the MV-1C console that I've been working on. The control pad sockets are about 10mm too high but it is the prototype. Just need to add artwork now. It's 23.5cm x 24 x 6.5 (minus feet) [just under 9.5inches x 9.5 x 2.5] so it's smaller than a Saturn, but a little wider than a SuperFamicom, same depth though and about as high.

I'm using a Jameco SC200 PSU (5pin DIN) and an RGB Scart lead (7pin DIN). Will upload more pics later with a shot of the rear ports and the final artwork.

I've also been consolizing a couple of MV-2Fs. Just need to wire in the joystick sockets, power switch and light and the power and AV ports. So that's everything then. But we're nearly there:

This is 51.5cm x 31 x 6.5 [20.25inches x 12 x 2.5]

So yeah, what does everyone think? If you're wondering why they're white, the MV-1C is to go on the shelf with the DC, Saturn, PCE Duo R and PSone all of which are (off)white. But I can do the 2slots in any colour.....

Nice job. What are they made of?

I really don't like the power switch on the top of the console though, but that's just my personal preference.

Well I've finally managed to get some better quality pics up. :multi_co:

Thanks for the positive comments everyone, I was hoping people would like them :) The cases are actually made out of fibre board, and then sprayed. I'm printing the artwork on very thin clear sticky acetate. Once it's stuck on, the cases will get a final coat of clear matt varnish to seal everything. I'm planning to put the 'SNK' logo between the pad ports, and the 'Neo*Geo' logo on the top. The 2 slot will be the same, but with a much larger NG logo and also the 'MVS' logo on the top, bottom-left. The second 2slot will have the round smiley faces logo on top instead. But I can do them whatever colour people want, with whatever artwork you want.

Adamaki - I can put the switches wherever people want them.

playboycougar - Will send PM later.

I'm very interested in understanding how you print on the acetate film.
Where do you find it ? What printer do you use ?
I have the same kind of project and i'm looking for solutions to do artworks.
Don't feel forced to reply if you want to keep you technique a secret ! ;-)

I love those cases!

Kinda Apple-esque.

I don't think it's fair for you UKers to call your work "consolized." You don't get the privledge of futzing with an RGB to NTSC/PAL encoder!

That's pretty pimp too. I was just discussing with someone putting LEDs on the underside of a supergun, kinda like one of those cars with black lights on the underside.

I installed some blue cold cathodes in a 4-slot ages back - using a black light looks crap as there's nothing to shine the uv off....

That's why you get creative with the uv paint, and start painting traces ;)
