Hello,

I have a question on AES video.

I'm getting a Japanese AES with composite leads.
My TV is capable of 60Hz display. I can normally play NTSC and PAL dvd's (I live in Europe).

Will I need a SCART cable to have colour picture?
Is the SCART better than composite and why?

TIA for the help.

The fact your DVD player plays PAL and NTSC discs back on your TV does not mean your TV is accepting a NTSC signal.
Unless you have a multi-system TV a Japanese NTSC AES will not give colour.

RGB via SCART on the other hand will with that system.

Why is RGB better ? Because it is the raw rgb outputs sraight to the video drives of the TV set. Nothing in between, no encoder. RGB is the optimum connection. Like a real arcade monitor.

Thanks for the help, that clears it up. I will order a SCART cable then.

Make sure that you are getting a properly wired rgb scart lead, you don't want to buy one then find out laer that it's only wired for composite and you have a picture that is no better than if you were using the standard AV lead.

That NEScube is absolute quality. And RGB Scart is the only way...
