So far it's received mediocre reviews. I just looked here

I haven't actually read any in-depth review.

I will get my copies tomorrow. I picked up more than one so I can play the multi-player stuff.

The reviews have been in the 7-8 range which is pretty good for an older game like this. If this didn't offer the new multi-player options, I don't know if I would even pick it up.

I'll consider buying it if the Rebirth-mode is more than just a few gimmicky puzzles and the poor looking first person slashing. The multiplayer could be really cool but I doubt it from what I've read so far. Still, I really like the RE-series so I'll propably end up buying this game when the price drops.

Multiplayer? Will it be WiFiC multiplayer? I've been trying to find Animal Crossing but no one has it in stock, so I had to ebay it. I cant wait to check that out.

Doesn't look like it. WiFi games have a little blue logo on the front of the box. This one doesn't have it.

As of a day or so ago, PlayAsia still had these in stock for about $85. I thought about ordering it in but wanted to buy multiple copies for multi-player so I decided to pass.

Is it just me, or is the 'Deadly Silence' subtitle a bit... rubbish?

Surely 'Dead Silence' would both be better, and make more sense?

If Barry says 'master of unlocking' in the game then I'm gonna
snicker myself like crazy. I doubt they use the original dub though.

I think (in fact I'm pretty sure) that it does have the original 'He's MY friend TOO..... y'know' vocal track.

It definitely should do, anyway, I agree. Then we can have Jill Sandwiches to take away...

Yep, several reviews have confirmed that the original voice acting is still intact. That's probably the single factor I'm most looking forward to.

I'm going to replay the opening scene over and over again just to hear Barry say "master of unlocking" repeatedly.

My copies arrived today and the original dub does indeed seem to be intact. Im very much impressed that the DS was able to do all that it has with this game. Even though the visuals are a little blocky/grainy its RE and im a RE freak so im in heaven playing this bad boy. The new control scheme is a real god send as well. This title just lends itself to this system so well that it feels almost fresh again. I wish that it looked JUST a little better but im quite satisfied. Not too bad of a purchase if I do say so myself, its well worth checking out. I personally give it a solid 7 to 8 out of 10 considering its an older (VERY old in fact) title but its been put on a platform that could use something as interesting as this in its library.

*NOW FOR THE SHAMELESS PLUG*

Ive got it available. $30!!!

If you've seen comparison shots of the PS1 RE and the DS version of the same game, the DS version looks miles better.

kernow showed me the page but I forgot where the link went.

I received my copies today and played it for about and hour. I love the fact that they left all of the goofy cut scenes and talking in this version. I have not tried out multi-player yet but I hope to over the weekend.

Anyway from the start you can play rebirth mode or classic mode. I am playing rebirth mode since that mode takes advantage of the DS. I will say that I love the new first person knife encounters. It is a blast to pop into a room and whip the knife across the screen. It also breaks up the play a little which is also nice.

There are two control choices and I really like A. I am having no problems during the action parts or when trying to run away. I also like how the knife is equipt at all times now. Simply hold down the L button and hack away. It no longer takes up an inventory spot.

As far as graphics...I think they are fine for this game. They were never good on the PS and now they are better IMO. Also...having the map on the top screen is fantastic. This as well as Castlevania DS really need maps always on display.

If you are a fan of Resident Evil....you will like this game. It is a different experience than playing another remake of RE on a console. I will also say that the instruction manual is very nice (in color) as well :glee:

Did you touch Jill's goodies?. :D :tickled:

Can the zombies and mutants follow you if you don't kill them and is it safe in the save storage rooms. So Lisa Trevor from RE remake isn't in Resident Evil: Deadly Silence. What about the uncut intro and Kenneth's head eaten off?. ;)

Shawn...I am pretty early in the game and although I beat it years ago, I don't remember a lot about it.

Once the game starts there is still that part where that freaky zombie turns to you as he is eating away.

Zombies/dogs ect. will follow you if you do not kill them but if you go through a door, they do not keep coming after you.

I don't know if there are any extra characters. It appears that they kept most of the original intact even the goofy stuff. (Which I am glad that they did)

I didn't touch Jills goodies but that is the character I am using right now. (I had to hear the master of lockpicking thing again....that is priceless) If you are a fan of RE, you will love this game.

I was worried about the control aspect mostly....and being able to see wtf is going on in the screen..shooting / puzzle wise. Seems I may have to try it out and see for my self.

It'll urinate all over the memories of Saturn Biohazard I have, then...
