I've got one, i call it the "Dreamcast" :kekeke:

Damn, you beat me to it :chimp:

Anyway the only difficult part about consolizing a naomi would be the controller inputs, you would still need an I/O or a control pannel. You can get video through the VGA port, audio through the RCA jacks, and it's easy to power it from an ATX powersupply.

This is the closest to a consolized naomi I've attained :loco:

Consolizing a Naomi and ending up with an all-in-one unit (except of course for the External PSU and optional GD-ROM drive) is quite possible. I've been wanting to do this for a while now but the fact is that I have practically no interest in Naomi games (guess I'm too old?) and Naomi hardware is still too expensive to try this just for the hell of it. Maybe I could consolize someone else's setup?

Well, I'm all for it if you want to consolize mine. Anyway naomi mobos are really cheap now, the expensive parts are I/O's and the GDrom kit (DIMM+drive).

In any case, I'm afraid you would still need the I/O as controls are USB. Would you just integrate the I/O in the consolize unit? I have the Capcom one as you can see in the pictures. Another thing I've always wondered is if it would be possible to use a VGA->scart cable to have low res RGB outputted to the TV directly from the naomi's VGA port. Same goes with the Atomiswave. I'd try it if I had such cable but it's not available in shops and I'm too lazy to build it myself.

Just let me know if you want to do something with my naomi. I have barely used it, in part because of the bulkiness of the set-up. So I won't miss it while you have it and when it comes back it'll be like a new toy to play with. Thanks.

I see no way of putting the I/O board inside either so you will either need a bigger box to put all in or a board to mount it on.

Yeah, I guess the Sega I/O would be more suitable to put it inside the mobo case. Anyway another possibility is to "integrate" the Capcom I/O outside of the mobo case, in the top or the bottom, kinda like I did on my pics, or the set-up RGP uses.

Yes, but this can only be done with the smaller Sega I/O board, the Capcom one is way too big.

Yes, that's what I meant in my response to pingu. So I guess it just isn't worth the hassle to consolize a naomi having the Capcom I/O. Oh well, it doesn't matter.

I had actually planned on doing this years back. I was going to put the motherboard, Capcom I/O, JROK, and power supply inside a mid-tower PC case (the same case I used for my CPS-II superguns). It was going to be a tight fit, but it would have worked. I was looking for a right-angle USB cable for the I/O board... that's how tight the fit was. There was definitely no room for the GD-ROM module. I never did it, partially because as others have said having a Dreamcast didn't justify the ~ $1000 (at the time, and that was including my GD-ROM module) worth of Naomi hardware and I sold the parts, but in hindsight I wish I had. I know someone would've loved to have it. Maybe someday I'd be willing to revisit the project.
