My Metal Slug 4 MVS cart freezes up on my Consolized 2-slot unit

I am having problems with my Metal Slug 4 MVS cart and it keeps losing sound, freezing and after beating the Allen O'neil robot I grabbed his machinegun and then I entered the elevator to get to the final mission boss and once the elevator stops and opens the character sprite sometimes disappears which sometimes happends right after the old man in the black suit laughs. It doesn't always do that though.

Should I have the metal contacts cleaned before inserting the MVS cart in the 2nd slot. My Metal Slug X MVS cart is in the 1st slot and I had the metal contacts cleaned with alcohol swabs and it works great. Should I put MS4 in the 1st slot and then put MSX in the 2nd slot?. The select buttion works all the time when I switch between games.

Any advice and solutions?.

Try swapping them over (I'd have tried that before posting, myself).

Normally, I'd say clean the carts, but the fact that you've reproduced the freeze in the same place kinda steers me away from that.
Couldn't hurt to clean all contacts though.

Is it a legit cart?

I bought it from the Neo Store in 2004 or 2005 and the cart gives me problems sometimes. It's an offical legit MVS cart.

Have you tried it in the other slot?

I have a 6-slot and had a real hard time with games freezing. Sometimes it the slot they are in, the order of the slots, or they just don't like being plugged in with other particular carts. Try playing it by itself or just swapping the slots around.

I had my Metal Slug MVS cart cleaned and I had it put in the 1st slot while Metal Slug X was in the 2nd slot after switching carts. Everytime I finish MSX I would play MS4 after and their still is no sound which means it's about to freeze up. So I decided to have MSX removed and I just played MS4 all the way through and the game plays fine. You know that kamkazi move where you launch the slug mobile to attack enemies, well MSX did that even though it is not supposed to have that feature like in MS3, MS4 and MS5 has and I think that MSX and MS4 don't like each other in either slot and so if I decide to play MSX I will just use the 1st slot. Is their a cover plactic piece to cover up the 2nd slot when not in use?.

Metal Slug X
Metal Slug 4
Metal Slug 5

All I need is,

Metal Slug 2
Metal Slug 3

and Metal Slug 6 for the Atomiswave.

I removed the MSX MVS cart and just played MS4 alone in the 1st slot and it worked like a champ.
