What's wrong with the OK Baby arcade cabinet?

Well, people seem to frown upon these types of cabinets. I was wondering why. There's a 29" monitor that's rotatable. Interchangable CP's and some other things that other cabs have. So what's wrong with these?

Cheap parts? Psu? Speakers?

If these are the problem, I am sure some can be fixed, but I wasn't sure if there was actually something wrong with the cabinet, or people just like name brand because well, it's name brand.

Just wondering....

Thier fakes of Japanese candy cabs, are the button holes 30mm or 28mm?

I wouldn't say there is anything wrong with them. They are just Taiwan knock-offs of JPN cabs like RGP stated. If you had an opportunity to pick up one for a good price then I would go ahead. You can always swap out joysticks and buttons for JPN Sanwa or Seimitsu if you don't like the Taiwan counterparts.

Is that it? Buttons and sticks are no big deal....

Anything that's really a problem? Monitor issues?

Anything besides someone saying, "Your cab with a 29 inch monitor isn't as cool as my cab with a 29 inch monitor, because mine is from Japan" ...??

Well, I don't have any personal experience with the cabs so I cannot comment on the monitor quality. I have only spoken to a few people in the past about this cab and don't recall the monitor being mentioned as poor quality. However, this was some time ago so maybe the quality has decreased to what the Killercab guys have experienced.

I am more worried about picture quality. Anything that's going to fall off, can be tightened or secured.

Not trying to defend the cab or anything, as I am getting one....but just looking for "REAL" issues with it. Thanks for the info though...

So,

-buttons and sticks will need to be swapped. (I was going to get a whole new CP anyways)

-I need to check the monitor before rotating.

Anything else that I need to be aware of? That monitor thing could have really sucked if I didn't know about it. Thanks!

No you mis-understood, the pcb solder contacts can break off the monitor & has to be shop repaired:

After reading that thread...I am not too worried. I will check over everything on the monitor before turning etc and strengthen any weak looking contacts with a thin solder....as stated as possible towards the end of that thread.

I wish the pictures in the thread were still up so I could really understand what you are talking about. But sounds fixable or avoidable either way....

Edit:

Also wondering if this was just one person, or if this has happend to a few people who have gotten these cabs?

At least when I get mine, I can toss up some shots, part details, and compare this monitor to my other two neo monitors. I don't see much info on these, so at least it could be helpful in that way.

Edit #2: also got this from KC:

I think it's the luck of the draw with a monitor chassis - they can last 25 minutes or 25 years - there's really no way to tell
