Ok, on my gold mvs cab when I play all the way through metal slug 1 and then attempt to play another game or metal slug again the sound is completly gone until I reset the cab. Only happens when metal slug is played to the end and the credits roll...any ideas???

2 slot right..?

Does it do this after a few demo loops..?

........................IMO
All kinds of things could cause this..

Boot/other cart in mobo being a boot.

Bios chip(wierd shit happens to me)

Dirty connectors(cart and mobo),bad connection between the cart and mobo)

Low 12V on the power supply.

Loose Jamma harness or bad-dirty connection..

Cart combination..Try another cart with MS,switch them around..Try MS by itself..

.........................................................
Clear Back-up memory..
Clean cart mobo pins.
Pull cart out of mobo slightly.
Make sure all the options for demo sound on are on in soft dip set-up..

It dosen't matter what game is in with metal slug...boot or not...and it only does it after metal slug is played to the end then all games have no sound. All other cart combinations cause no problems.

All I do to fix it is to hit the test button then exit out of the test mode and it works fine. I will play around with it some more to see if any of your suggestions help.

LMK

Let the cab run before playing..see if the sound goes out during the 4th or 5th demo loop.

Also,..Try a low meg cart combination-line-up with Metal Slug/playing MS to the end..(after doing all the other things)

I seem to have a lot of problems in my 4 slot/Candy cab mobo when I mix high megged carts ..Sound goes out...or no sound at all..IMO it's my old uni bios chip..

...........................
Today I installed MS3..in my Candy cab...No sound at all during power up after putting that cart in..I took out the cart cleaned it..(cleaning fixed the problem)
Then I had to change the carts around to the line-up in the mobo in pic below.. to get them to match to the way they were starting up-the line up...It was jumping to slot 4 then to slot two etc.

I let the cab run through 10 demo loops, sound stayed on but I've had the sound go out in the past after 3-5 demo loops with several other cart line-ups.

I tried putting KOF 02-before MS3..
Forget about it..(after cleaning etc) I get no sound throughout the board when mixed with BBS2,Neo Turf Masters,Last Blade
Took it out,put it in the Big Red/4 slot US bios..and KOF 02 works fine..(with League Bowling,Street Slam,Blazing Star...and or Bust A Move 2

Don't worry about it, mate.

It's just the usual multislot sound issue and shouldn't be considered a fault with any hardware.
As a point of interest, the sound on my 6-slot used to drop out after MS1 as well. :glee:

Thanks Gummy...I was hoping it was just unique to MS and multi slot cabs.
