I was going to post this in tech but I though it would get more views here. I have a dedicated 6 slot cab at the moment and I was wondering if I can run '80s era arcade boards and some CPS1 boards through the MVS harness in my cab? Most if not all the games I want to run are 3 button games, some 2 button (Double Dragon 1 & 2, Bad Dudes, Aliens, Robocop, TMNT, Final Fight, Combatribes, Knights of the Round, etc.). If anyone could give me the skinny on this I would greatly appreciate it.

Thanks,
Mike

I would recomend against it unless you change how the sound is output.

Yeah this is a similar issue i have too. I was told not to put my jamma pcbs in the mvs harness cause there's an issue with sound. Something to do with stereo vs mono. I need someone to fix it so there's a switch to change the sound to mono for my jamma boards.

If you don't do this it could mess up your jamma boards... at least so i'm told.

i'd like some info on this too - i have a new astro city with a 4 slot mvs wired to it. problem is i didnt do the wiring so I'm not sure if any adjustments need to be made to play other standard pcbs.

itll work fine, however you will have to connect your speakers in paralell to eachother.

like this:

+jamma * +speaker1 * -speaker1 * +speaker2 * -speaker2 * -jamma

(* = connecting wire)

this way you will get mono sound out of both speakers, kinda giving an illusion of stereo.

also the test switch is not on the same jamma pin for jamma so youll have to manually short circuit on the jamma board if you need to acess the test menu.

thismethod is the easiest and doesnt involve any soldering or any kind of adapter manufacturing.
