You made me chuckle :lolz: . I think the reason the PSP is starting the road to a slow long death is because Sony is treating the PSP as a all in one multimedia handheld system. Sony is not treating this as a very powerful portable videogame system The PSP, so far, has become the Playstation mini. Portable versions of games that you don't realy want to play anyways on the bigger more powerful brother. I want to play games that i can not play on any other system, like my DS. UMDs are probably the only thing saving the PSP,IMO. I'll buy my PSP when it is much cheaper and hopfuly some must play video games are released for it.

CORRECTION: I forgot all about the ROMZ. The ROMZ is what keeping the PSP afloat.

Nothing happened to the PSP. It, the games, and the UMD's are still selling well.

Argh. So frustrating. The TATE capabilities of this system have real potential for shooters.
Unfortunately, Sengoku Cannon and a remake of Super Star Soldier(as much as I love the Soldier series) just don't cut it.

Bring on the damn shooters already.

And, yes...I preordered the Gradius Collection.

Yes they are. Go look at some best sellers lists and you will see the PSP and some games (well currently really only GTA:LCS) high on the lists.

This man blindly defends the PSP in every PSP related thread. Pay no attention to him. Nothing to see here :emb:

Hhaha, I was just thinking about what a Brokeback Moutain game would be like on a DS...

Round up the sheet and pup tent minigames.

The only time I see somebody carrying around a PSP game in a game store is to trade it in.

There is the black evil side of me that wishes PSP to die a quick and sudden death TOMORROW, just to prove to Sony they fucked the big, used, smelly old ass of a donkey on this one.

All I've been playing on portable shit is GBA, and its been Ninja Five-0 and Castlevania.

PS: GTA on PSP is the bowel movement of its software library.

REAL GAMES. Not ports, hacks, or compilations SONY. I'd say learn from Nintendo but I don't want you to.

... And Justice For All.

I had a PSP, but ended up getting rid of it. It's a powerful little system, but I'm not exactly a mainstream gamer for the most part...so 99% of the crap out there (excluding a few decent titles) I wouldn't want to play. :( Way too expensive for a handheld as well.

Japan kicked it out of its own country over to america. Where all the non gamers are picking it up for movies on the go. No offence to big or mark of the wolves since they routinely defend the system.

ps. Not a bad system, but sony just needs to get more personal with it. Kinda like magna and soulthug.

I have yet to buy any PSP games.

And why should I? I have a neo geo CD emu on my PSP with SSRPG, TSS, Pulstar, Metal Slug, and SSII. Then I have the PCE emu with Castlevania Chi no Rondo on it.

And then I have a ton of NES games on it too.

Why the hell would I want to have to lose that in exchange for new games?

Sony should have just said fuck it on that count and allowed people to pirate old games.

DS Pulls Ahead of PSP In Spain And other parts of Europe.

According to reports from Spanish website Vandal Online, sources from Nintendo Europe are now claiming that lifetime-to-date sale figures for the Nintendo DS console in Spain is now 425,000 units, above that of the rival Sony PSP handheld.

This figure represents 59 percent of the next generation portable market, with the data referring to the other 41 percent described only as that belonging to “other” next generation portable consoles. Assuming that this second percentage is solely PSP sales, then it would indicate a lifetime figure of around 295,000.

Although the PSP was released almost six months later in Europe than the Nintendo DS, other sales results collated by market research firm AC Nielsen show that the Nintendo DS has been outselling the PSP since the week of November 13, with Christmas sales significantly above that of Sony’s handheld.

According to Nintendo Spain marketing director Rafael Martínez Moya-Angeler, 100,000 additional units could have been sold over the period if not for stock supply problems. As has been the case around the world, the Nintendo DS’s fortunes began to improve following the release of Nintendogs in October, and particularly following the release of Mario Kart DS and the Wi-Fi Connection Network (Animal Crossing: Wild World has not yet been released in Europe).

Nintendo DS sales began to dip again after December 19th, following the start of stock problems but currently remain above that of the PSP, according to reports. The situation is similar to that reported in much of the rest of the Europe with even the normally Nintendo unfriendly UK market currently favoring the Nintendo DS, albeit by a smaller margin.
