Just got my custom Neo to Commodore 1084 cable from MKL and all I have to say is WOW.

Prior to this I had my Neo hooked up via an XRGB which has great brightness but you have to turn scanlines off and that looks really blocky. You can get a smooth picture but that means turning on scanlines and the picture is too dark, even with brightness cranked for the monitor and xrgb. With the commodore the picture is both smooth and bright.

I say it so much that its almost cliched, but RGB truly is the way to play when it comes to the NEO.

The picture pretty much is on par with an arcade monitor. If all AES RGB signals are crap like Jeff Kurtz says, then hooking this monitor to an MVS or modded Neo would make my sex fall out.

Thanks MKL!

Mine looks good too...just can't get the screen to stabilize fast enough, wants to bounce for 15 minutes before setting in.

Glad to hear it works well.

It should be stressed though that not all Neo Geo home systems can be hooked up to an RGB monitor (be it a Commodore, arcade, etc.) out of the box. The last two revisions, AES 3-5 and AES 3-6 lack a sync output on the A/V port. The pin that is sync on earlier revisions is a double composite video output here, so you'll get a rolling picture if you hook it up to an RGB monitor that needs a sync input. You can easily mod these systems and restore the sync output on the A/V port (a much better solution that stripping sync from composite video).

I hook mine to a MVS 1fz. The rolling stops once everything is warmed up, but is irritating if I want to play right away.

I was talking about home systems. MVS boards are not supposed to do that at all.

I know...i got it from Canada and by the time it got to me it was so banged up that the seller gave me a full refund including shipping. The A/V in looks and works great and once it stabilizes the rgb looks great...Any ideas on what the problem might be?
I bought it with the intention of putting it in a bartop I am making, but with the stabilazation problems that is not feasible right now. Once it stops bouncing, it will bounce sporadically with no rhyme or reason. Like I said, any help would be greatly appreciated.
