Hi all here!

i have a MVS 1 FZ slot and a big problem... it' s not working! it continue to reset at the green boot screen. I have inspected the pcb and I see a component is missing:

i try to regulate the voltage at +5V but no result.

i try changing the back-up battery but nothing happens.

i try to put all the dip switches ON but nothing (it say work ram) and no error messages.

somehone can help me?

:help:

The "PC"smd looks like a filter cap to suppress noise on the 5 volt rail (notice there are several around the pcb), the board will work OK without it.

What happens if you turn the supply up to 5.2 volts ?

Edit- oh yeah I forgot to say welcome to the forum neo arcade.

This could be due to a calander error or maybe even a faulty bios.

Try this first...

- turn on all hard dips and power on the unit, you should see a work RAM test mesage. leave it for a few seconds and then turn all harddips off (while board is still on). Do you get an error message now or does the system start doing the reset loop again?

If its still looping take the Bios out of its socket and make sure all the legs are straight and clean. Put it back in and try again.

Also, do you get the same results with no game in the unit?

I have no idea sorry, it all depends what the fault is. If its a bad Bios then probably yes.

This may sound stupid, but have you tried cleaning your MVS connectors? Whenever my system resets over and over again, I clean the cartridge connectors with alcohol and the readers with compressed air. Its works for me every time.

Maybe that'll help, sorry if it doesn't.
