I don't know if it's H264 I'm encoding it into, but I use PSP Video 9 to encode my stuff.

If there's a better program out there I'm all ears.

AVC at a really low bitrate.

Compresses a full animation episode to around 50-60MB.

Is that the same thing?

AVC? Hmmmm....

I've only tried using QVGA/15FPS/364kb,and it works pretty well, although I would like to up the frame rate a bit....but that would probably eat up more memory, would it not?

Is AVC available for 2.00+ fw only?

Yeah, AVC is 2.00+ only.

The quality on the videos is not that great though.

Something like Family Guy looks great, but throw in something with more animation/movement and the real quality of the format starts to show.

Still, at 60MB an episode, it's not really that bad.

Actually,I've been thinking about getting a GP2X,but I'll wait until someone figures out a way to run MAME properly.

Has anyone tried using that PSP divx/avi program?

I just encoded my first DVD to PSP using some pre-set tools, apps from here

Its designed to create a .pmp file that will run with pspmod and is said to be the best quality you can get.

I encoded "Waiting.Unrated" from my dvd-rom to an 800+mb .pmp file. The results are impressive. Picture looks really clean and clear and Full-Screen. It was also the first time i try that PMPmod app. This was really simple for someone that didn't feel like learning how to get all the shit tweaked for optimum quality.

give a try (the encoding does takes several hours).
It will also encode your divx to pmp as well (just read the instructions).

check that shit out yo!

You teh man now,dawg.

I've just converted Black Hawk Down, and I must say that the results were stunning. The picture quality is much, much better than that of the standard .MP4.

Shit,it even looks better than some UMD videos I've seen...:tickled:
