I can't believe I finally found the replacement Toei chassis board. Here is the dilemma....

Original Monitor = Nanao Dual-Rez 29" (Toshiba) CRT (Namco EX Candy Cab) Has some slight burn-in on the right side of the screen from years of use at the arcade. But still a great picture. Lots of external controls too!

Replacement Monitor = 8-Ball 27" (I believe its 29" CRT) monitor. Slightly smaller than original. However, the yoke board came slightly bent and their is a scratch/gouge on the screen. Can never set the picture correctly. Double ghosting and what... think I paid $150 for it. Limited external controls. You get what you paid for.....

Now I am sick of the replacement monitor!!!! I probably should just throw it away or give it away or make it into a TV. Just don't care about it.

Should I:

A) Get the Wells Gardner D9200 for $470 and know that I am getting a great monitor but not sure if it will fit well with my 29" Cab.

B) Get the replacement chassis for my monitor for $245 and enjoy the original monitor with slight right-side burn in?

Help me out guys! Has anyone here replaced an original 29" CRT with a D9200 27"? Are they the same sizes?

I don't understand why you need a new chassis for your monitor if it still has a great picture.

Ohh... Forgot to mention that I fried my Nanao chassis board. That is why I got the replacement monitor from 8-Ball. The original chassis was made by Toei, searched for a long time but came up with no results. Now 2 years later I have finally found the Toei Chassis. However, the price for it is half of a D9200.... Thats where the problem lies. Should I shell out another 250 bucks and just get a new monitor?

And the part that was blown was the vertical driver IC. Only found one site that ever carried the part (Chinese Wholesaler). Sent them an email never got a reply. Hope was lost and the Replacement Used Monitor was bought..... waste of money by the way.

Just fix the fried board or buy a repaired boardset off of eBay for a lot less than $245. If you are going to spend $245 just shell out the rest & get the new monitor.

What is the bad part? Maybe you can get an equivalent part from NTE or someone else.

The part number off the bad driver that is :)

9200 will beat the crap out of both of the ones you have. You'll be pleased, I'm sure. You get what you pay for usually.... now, will it fit? Sure, why not. Worst case you have to do a little work on the support boards inside the machine and get a new bezel.

Wait..... what kind of cab? JPN or US? That will help determine if you can use this monitor in the machine.

Namco EX Candy Cab bought it from Arcade Infinity. Good looking unit. Cleaned up/repainted. Sent Wells Gardner an email about the 9200. They told me it would fit with no problems. I guess all 29" monitors are really 27" viewable monitors. Japanese like to state the CRT physical size while the US likes to use viewable area. Well after much thought since this morning I figured It was best to get the 9200.

Hopefully the games will look as good as the original monitor if not better.
