So... these have become pretty common among the stick modding crowd. I'm wanting to mod my Agetec stick finally and was wondering where everyone buys there sticks and buttons from?

Thanks.

NM. Found Himura Amusements.

So what's the deal with the stick comparison? The Sanwa JLF-TP-8Y & JLF-TP-8YT and the Seimitsu LS-32. Anyone prefer one over the other? Opinions, I know, still curious for input.

I won't be much help here, but I'll give it a shot.

I have seimitsu joysticks in my cab, and I'm also building a DC joystick with a seimitsu in that.

Seimitsu sticks (and I don't know the term for this) have a square motion. Like, if you move the joystick around in a circle, it moves in more like a square... It's kinda weird actually. It can be awkward, but they are nice sticks.

My friend just got a new astro city cabinet and it has JP sticks in it. I don't know what brand they are, but boy are they nice. They mount like an american joystick if i'm not mistaken. They are smooth as can be. I kinda wish I had those in my cab. If those are sanwa sticks, I say go sanwa.

Thats what is known as a restrictor plate, personally I hate the square plates, you can however easily change them, I have octagonal plates with my sanwa sticks and its all cool, especially for fighters!!

As far as Seimitsu's I do not have a clue. But the only difference between the Sanwa's is that the JLF-TP-8YT has a shaft cover, and the JLF-TP-8Y doesn't have one. The sticks are the same. If you look at the Hori Real Arcade Pro 2, it has the shaft cover.

I'm not looking for what's better, but what's the difference between the two sticks. I'm under the assumption that the Seimitsu is shorter than the Sanwa, no?

Thanks for the input thus far however. I'm still thinking of color combonations. I'm leaning towards red ball top stick with yellow buttons (to match the yellow start button on the Agetec stick). I'm going to try and photoshop some pics tonight. I'll post them to see what you guys think.

seimitsu sticks are alot more rigid and have less play then sanwa sticks.. yeah those are pretty much all the differences.. about the square plate it depends on which one you buy, they come in all shapes.

i prefer seimitsu any day, sanwas sticks are OK but their buttons are pure shite, stay well away..

Really? I happen to like Sanwa buttons rather well.

Another question though, do Sanwa and Seimitsu make any other sticks than what's sold at Himura Amusements? If so I'd like to know the model numbers so I can pick up some different sticks and compare.

i have no idea what they sell at himura, but i think both sanwa and seimitsu have their full range at resp website ?

i know seimitsu have lots of different versions at theirs anyways.. i just ordered one with a button ontop of the joystick.. ATAC stylie, retro as hell.. i hope the stick has the right feel cause it sure looked awesome :buttrock:

I've really only ever played with Happ's sticks. So is it fair to say that a Sanwa would feel more like the stocker on the DC? Tighter maybe?

Hey sven, I really didn't even address the buttons for that fact that I've heard absolutely nothing bad about them from anything I've read. What don't you like about the Sanwas? More important, what would you suggest and why?

Just for fun.

I kind of like the orange and yellow. PurpleYellow is kind of reminding me of The Max. Anyone remember that toon/comic?

If I went with the Seimitsu screw type, I'd definitely do black buttons (no other choice) and a yellow ball top.

I like the orange/yellow combo. Green might look good too.
For what it's worth I have Seimitsu sticks on my cab and love em.

Sanwa by miles for me. I find seimitsu sticks too short and a little stiff. Sanwa height and throw is perfect.

Also Sanawa buttons are 489749849487x better than seimitsu. So light and easy to use.

I always thought that Sanwa sticks were the best until I tried the seimitsu and now i'm a convert. However I still prefer Sanwa buttons. So for me it's -
seimitsu stick + Sanwa buttons = Perfection.

Well, guess it all comes down to personal preference, so I'm just going to have to try for myself.

Thanks for the input everyone. I'll be sure and post pics here whenever I get around to slapping this together.
