Hello everyone, I finally took a leap this weekend and bought myself an MVS 4 slot big red cabinet. The cabinet is almost perfect, but I have one little issue.

The sound on it is low, not low enough that you can barely hear, but low enough to be just right on a very quiet evening. The volume control is all the way up already. Is there any way to make is go louder? Right now my TV can drown out the sound on it. I always remember the mvs cabinets having really great (and loud) sound. Are my speakers shot?

I am really at a loss right here since, the speakers are not distorting or anything. I would appreciate any hep that I can get. Thanks to all again!

Well, theres definately a problem somewhere, I barely slide my volume up and its plenty loud, i can totally blast the game if i wanted to. Id say, since you say there is no distorition or intermitent sound, it isnt a connection problem. Maybe whoever had the cab before you replaced speakers that went bad with the wrong kind. Take a look and see what kind of speakers they are. OR maybe your speakers are just blown. Also make sure speakers are properly grounded.

I know my cab has to "warm up" sorta speak. Its always pretty low sounding when I turn it on...after about 5 mins its louder...and 10 mins to 15 mins its louder than I can deal with.

I'm not sure why its like that. My monitor isn't fully crisp or colorful until about the same amount of time either.... maybe the power supply...but I don't really care....I let it warm up..gives me time to pack the bowl ;)

Make sure that it is properly Wired for Stereo and not mono....

The #10 top and bottom pins should each go to the + terminal of a positive speaker and the -SPKR terminals should go to ground.

Thanks for the replies. The speakers are 5 watt 8ohm. As far as I can tell, the stereo sound seems to be working. I can distinctly hear the neo-geo intro sound from speaker to speaker.

I have been playing for hours and no volume change at all. I will try tracing the ground connections to see if I spot anything again. I will keep you guys updated.

Check your +12v connection on your power supply and harness.

Make sure that both speakers are properly hooked up to the Jamma Edge connector as I mentioned earlier....

Hooking them up in a Dual Mono setup will create sound problems.

Another Theory:

Are your speakers hooked directly up to your Jamma Loom?

I've seen some setups that were hooked up to the Headphone port.
