Mai's bounciness?

ok i'm new in the mvs scene so pardon me..

i played my english version of kof2k mvs and noticed that mai is not bouncy..

i played with the soft dip setting and in the country selection only usa and 'others' is selectable.

i tried others with the language still in english but mai's bounciness is nowhere to be found..

so do i need a unibios to unlock this feature?

btw if i got a jap cart instead, is it accessible from the start?

You need a Japanese (or Euro?) BIOS or one that acts like one. So yes, UniBIOS.

thanks, ordering one now...

one more thing, the board i have is either mv-1a or mv-1fz, i can't tell the difference as they look very similar.. do i need to solder the bios on this board?

Looking at http://www.hardmvs.com/html/PCBcompare.htm it seems they're both socketed BIOSes. So no, you just pull out the old BIOS and pop the UniBIOS in where it was.

You can also locate the bios on the PCB and you'll soon see if its in a socket or not. Im sure it will be in a socket though.

No, its set in the bios. US and Jap carts are identical apart from the label and extras, artwork etc.

Is anyone else amused at how strong a selling point Mai's assets are for the Uni-BIOS?

I wonder what percentage of sales are at least somewhat influenced by this.
