Sorry guys I was searching and searching and couldnt find actual directions on how to do it.

So far from what I have read was you cut pin 2 and run a wire to pin 20 it looked like but then in the pic was a resistor going to the other side of the bios chip. Anyone know the exact steps?

I am an experienced solderer but I am having a hard time desoldering the bios chip with my desoldering tool so I figured I can piggyback the socket alot easier.

Thanks guys for the help.

Thanks Raz.

If I am using a socket I just bend both Pin 2 out and solder the socket Pin 2 to Pin 20 on the board correct?

Yes, you also still need to use the resistor on the original bios pin 2 to pin 40 too.

damn, I just noticed I made the notch on the socket face the right. Will this have any reverse effect or not besides not look right?

No as long as you bent out the correct pins still. Youll need to plug the bios into the socket matching the origial bios and not the socket also.

Thanks Raz. I think the chip I got for free was bad because all I got was scrambled graphics even after everything was correct. So I guess I will be ordering an official one from you. :chimp: How do I send payment in Euros, I'm guessing Paypal can convert it.

Thanks again Raz.

Simply goto the homepage (www.universebios.com) and order one with the buy it now option from the ordering page. Paypal will convert it for you like you say.
