I added pics of the guts. Sorry one of my head hairs fell into the pics. :kekeke:

Here is a modded DOA4 Stick. It was one of the most inconvenient stick mods I've done. Mounting the stick was't that painful, but the buttons were a chore.
As far as the stick goes, I had to use the Stick Shaft and Spring Cover from the stock Hori stick because the Sanwa shaft is too long and doesn't fit inside the DOA stick.

The buttons were a pain. I had to shave some of the contacts in order to get them to fit. Between the PCB's and the stick being so thin, Sanwa buttons won't fit perfectly. I may do this mod again for a family member, and I will probably use those Taiwanese Sanwa Button clones that are really short. I'm sure those would work great.

Unless someone beats me to it. When I mod another one, I will do a stick tutorial with pics of course.

I don't own a 360 so I haven't tested the stick yet. As soon as I get my Windows XP upgraded to Service Pack 2, I will be able to test it on my Laptop. Since this is a hobby of mine and I do it for fun, I will proably put it in the selling forums soon. But I want to make sure everthing is working the way it's supposed to.

Nice.

This stick would be even better had they opted to make it wireless.

I bet once SF2 Hyper Fighting hits XBox Live Arcade there will be several competing sticks on the market.

Very nice zapatistab. I also have the DoA4 stick but will be leaving it stock for now. Are you going to swap out to different color leds as well?

No..... I don't want to mess with anything but the stick and buttons.

What did you do to it? Change out the buttons?

I changed the buttons and the Joystick. I had to use the Hori Stock stick Shaft, but the rest of the joystick is all Sanwa. The Hori Stick shaft is the same size as the Sanwa shaft, as far as width goes, but the length is a bit shorter. I will post a pic of the guts, when I get home tonight. It was late when I took the pics, and I got lazy.

I'm not familar with this particular unit, so excuse my ignorance. It turned out great. Do you have a picture of the stick before modification?

Do NOT use taiwan buttons.
They suck so badly you'll regret it.
Try sanwa screw-ins i think they are a bit shorter.
I find it hard to believe that a sanwa does not fit in there.
Case seems to be the same height as soulcalibur2 stick?
Please post pics.

Thanks for the heads up on the Taiwanese buttons. (But they can't be as bad as Hori stock buttons, or are they?)The reason the Sanwa's don't fit well is because of the PCB's inside. The distance between the top of the stick and the PCB is very short. Also two of the resistors stick up. Which takes away more space. The way Hori installed the PCB's it would also be a pain to move them out of the way and mount them somewhere else inside of the stick. When I post picsof the guts, you will see what I am talking about.

One more thing, White Screw ins, with a White Ball Top would look pretty. :kekeke:

I always drill the pcb open in namco sticks to gain a few millimeter(with the buttons).
Believe me the taiwan buttons i had from excellentcom were worse than any hori
button i came across, even worse than the green agetec thingies.
Good job on a nice stick :)
