Metal Slug 4 Locked up in my MVS Cab

Last night I was playing Metal Slug 4 (w/ some unibios cheats and in console mode :shame:

) got to the boss of the first stage after beating him it was tallying up my score from the stage and it seemed to have locked up. I could press any button but it would not proceed. I could pull up the unibios menu but the game would not respond. Finally I had to reboot the MVS. I don’t think the game is a boot because I got it from Lithy but I just think it was kind of odd. Later tonight I will play through again and see if it happens again. I just wanted to see what the rest of the forum thinks might have happened.

Your problem is most likely the rehashed piece of shit hack job that Playmore put together and called the steaming pile of crap "Metal Slug 4". Heh

For real though, that is very odd. It doesn't sound like you're having a problem with your MOBO or the unibios because you were able to pull up the ingame menu. I wouldn't sweat it, Playmore isn't exactly known for the "quality" of games. Probably just a bug that didn't get fixed in time for the release date.

Maybe the Unibios cheats caused some needed game code to change?
Maybe it caused the undesired effect?

Its probably because you had come cheats enabled. The can cause problems like this.

Thats kind of what I was suspecting. I enabled them half way through the stage. I will admit I was geting my butt handed to me.

Yeah yeah yeah laugh it up.... I was never a shootem up game player untill recently. So am am still getting down the mechanics. I did not need them untill the boss fight any ways. :make_fac:

Got home played through with out any of the cheats and everything worked fine must have been a fluke. Also ran CRC check and it checked out fine.

I just use credits, lots and lots of them!

I am actually finding Metal Slug Advance for my GBA a lot harder than any other MS I have played. Maybe it's the smaller screen.

Yeah because I was in console mode I only had 4 credits. Also I had the hardness level a little high last night I changed it down to a lower setting and was able to beat that level just fine with no lock ups. :-)
