Now, i dont know squat about emulators or roms ect. But, if you can mod an xbox to play 1000 retro game roms and pirates out there use EPROMS to make boot MVS games, is it possible to use the eproms to "flash" something else onto a MVS cart? Like castlevania or super metroid? Just something i've been wondering about.

You would have to reprogram the entire game to work on the Neo hardware. It not as simple as just burning eproms.

Of course, you can use EPROM's to replace damaged mask ROMs on faulty NeoGeo carts for example.

Just today I used an EPROM to repair a small graphics glitch in an old Frogger using a ROM I "obtained"...

I've also fixed sound in a Donkey Kong by burning new EPROMS.

That is one of the targeted uses for MAME, helping owners with information/hardware documentation.

As previously mentioned, the only way an EPROM can be used for good is to repair a bad rom on an existing board.

What's less powerful than a 68000? You need at leaast twice the specs of a system in all respects to do emulation.

Or to create and test new (homebrew) games on new/old recycled boards.
