Hello everybody,

Been a while since I've posted. Hope everyone is doing well. Ok, I've got three Neo 29s that have the original Seimitsu joysticks. They've seen heavy use in arcades before I got them. I've cleaned them up a bit but they are still in fare condition. I'm currently looking at buying some sticks from here:

http://www.dreamarcades.com/partssticks/index.shtml

Has anyone delt with these folks and used these sticks? They told me they are made by a company called Zippy and that they are basicly just like Seimitsu sticks. I'm wondering if they're identicle in feel and quality.

Another question I've got is about getting the true color out of the plastic monitor door. Its all yellowed from being in smoke filled arcades. I'm looking at these products:

http://www.plexusplasticcleaner.com/frames.html

http://www.autogeek.net/3mplasclean.html

Has anyone used these? It looks like the 3m would possibly do the trick with a polisher.

If anyones got any info I'd appreciate it.

Later,
Mr. Wiz

Those sticks look like Seimitsus.

i'm not a fan of seimitsus, I'd recommend tossing them and getting sanwas and a proper sanwa mounting plate... But that's just me.

Why Sanwa over Seimitsu? I've got both styles but I havent had a new Seimitsu to compair with my new Sanwa so I can't properly judge one over the other on feel or quality.

I own one of those sticks. I have it set on 4-way for Pacman on my Laptop. I've never knowingly used a seimitsu stick, so I really can't compare. Compared to playing on a Pacman cab, the stick feels rough. After using Happ and Sanwa sticks, personally I wouldn't put one of these sticks in my cab. Especially if I was using it for 8-way. I would only use them if I was short on funds, and needed a Japanese style stick.

My Seimistus are kind of ruf as well but I thought it was because they were just battle warn. Have you tried removing the dark blue guide plate and only used the light blue one below it? Seems like I did that and it made the feel less chunky on 8 way. The blue guide plate is ruf feeling.

Ultimark and Himuragames are the only places I know to get Sanwa. Kind of pricey though. Question, what is the pin outs for these:

I'm figuring one is for ground and the other four are positives. If so, then what is what? If no one knows then I guess I'll email them and find out and then post it here.

I have the pin's written down at home. If you don't find your answer I can post it tonight or tomorrow. Also you can take the microswtich PCB off of the stick. Turn the PCB over, and you can follow the traces on the PCB.

There is a guy on Ebay selling Sanwa's right now. He sells them for $18.00 plus $3.75 for shipping. Little less than Himuragames. I ordered one for the current project I am working on, the only thing I warn you about, the joystick had the wrong size dust cover. Personally I didn't care, because I have extra ones at home.

It seems Ultimarc is cheaper and has the sticks that are closer in style to what I have so I'll probably use them. There's have the standard cherry style switches. No pins to solder on to. Thanks for you help. :)

If you can make heads or tails of basics in that funny moon language called Japanese, you could try ordering right from the sanwa site.

(You can put items into a shopping cart, and just check out. I'm pretty sure they ship internationally.)

You can replace the switches in the stick with happ cherry microswitches, for an easy solution to having the circuitboard with pins.
