I have carts with two different colored boards and they are 100% legit.

Whats the theory on why there are so many bootleg PuzzBobs around, just a popular game with high demand I guess ??

Most likely. Think, what's the one game guaranteed to rake in the money? Puzzle Bobbler of course. I've seen kids, women and middle aged guys all pumping the credits in to play it.

I guess that since its meg count is so low, producing a boot of it is also very cheap and easy, and therefore even more profitable.

Also, wasn't it released before they started encrypting the games?

Damn there's so many PB boots around I think I'd better check mine to see if it's a boot or not. Or maybe I don't want to know...

My theory is the reason there are so many boots of PB is the small amount of chips that are on the board. There are only like 4 (I think) chips on an official board. 4 eeproms is going to cost a lot less than say 8-10 for a bootleg fighter. Cost is much lower for a high demand game.
