Well? I want to be sure as shit if I buy this piece of shit hardware for its exceptional games, I won't think its a piece of shit anymore.

Vote please. And take the "piece of shit" thing with a grain of salt, I don't really mean to take it literally.

I like the feel of the system, but the size and weight are a bit much when using the stylus (since you only have one other hand to support the entire system).

As far as the buttons go, I don't think they're too tiny at all. Sure they're small, but not enough that it could cause any gameplay problems... unless you've got hands with 2 inch-thick fingers or something.

Overall, the current design really isn't bad. Holding it with both hands is comfortable, and the thumbstrap is pretty effective at controlling games that use both the touchscreen and the face buttons.

I never play my DS in public, and since I drive on road trips I don't get a chance to play any Game Boys duing them. I play my DS on home, which means if I'm playing a game like Trauma Center where precision is key, it's flat on the bed and I don't have to worry about bumpy roads and other things.

I had extreme doubts about the DS, I mean I literally thought this was going to end up worthless. But I'm actually quite surprised, there are a few games worth owning for it.

it's a great system to own, but it's big and bulky.
i'm personally waiting to see if they're really going to have a
good redesign come tomorrow's announcement.

i like the way it looks, the only thing that bothers me is that it has 2 screens, so it has got to be smaller/lighter and its not...

waiting for the redesigned version...

I guess I'm one of the few people who really likes the looks of the current DS. Reminds me of the Game and Watch Donkey Kong I wanted so fucking badly when I was a kid and never got. I have no idea how good or bad the DS is ergonomically, because there aren't any games I'd be interested in playing longer than 30-45 seconds (other than CV, which I'm holding off on), so DS ergonomics hasn't come up for me. I've tried playing Mario Kart a couple times at Bst Buy, but always get bored before the race ends, and let some kid finish my game.

I'm waiting for games, and in the meantime, I guess I might as well wait for the redesign.

I didn't vote, but I love my DS. I'm also glad I bought one for the other half.

When I got it just over a year ago, it was a fairly impulse buy, and the games I got were Mario 64 and Wario. I had never played Mario 64, so spent a lot of time on that. Wario was good fun while it lasted.

However, since then I have spent lots of time with it. I spent a lot of time with Yoshi's Touch and Go, over 150 hours on Advance Wars, and have also clocked up a lot of play on Mario Kart DS. In between I cleared Castlevania (didn't like it), and played a lot of Another Code, Meteos, Elektroplankton, and a couple of others.

I think the design is OK. It is cool that is is based on the old G&W games, but the bottom corners do dig into my hands quite a bit during prolonged gaming sessions. I much prefer the Micro for ergonomics, even though it is tiny in my big hands.

Roll on Seiken Densetsu DS / Children of Mana.

I think it needs a better design...

Castlevania has yet to be started as I'm working on every last inch of Final Fantasy 2 on my Micro...

I bought a DS thinking I could use it as a GBA as well...

I hate using it for GBA...

The DS needs the new LCD's that the GBASP2 and Micro are using...

I'm sick of the touch screen...

I'm very happy the DS is knocking the shit out of the black movie player thing...

But I really dig the Micro...

Is the Micro comfortable to hold Tonk? Does the smaller screen vs the on on the GBASP2 make it less desirable you think?

I find the Micro very comfortable to hold even though I have very big hands.

I also love the Micro screen, although I haven't seen the new GBASP2 screen in action to compare.

Mirrored... I have not played the Micro but own the GBASP2, and let me tell you... the screen is nearly perfect. The only thing I could fault it on, and its tiny... is that the new screen (on mine anyway) is just a bit oversaturated.

The new GBASP2 is a phenomenal portable though. Low brightness setting is perfectly lit and having played through 1/2 of Aria of Sorrow, I have not yet recharged the battery. I'm convinced that the new backlight system(could be LED) could be more efficient.

I'd heard it wasn't comfortable, but got it anyway when Target had that $100 glitch that happened right around my birthday (and just after MKDS came out, what great timing). I'd been planning on getting it anyway, as there's so friggin many good games for it (I was gonna list them, but there's like 15 at least, with more on the way).

Anyway, I never really tried it out in stores, so when I finally played it, I was pleasantly surprised to find that it was actually a bit comfortable to me. It's not exactly ergonomic, but I personally can't say that I find it to be uncomfortable.

I don't regret buying it before this supposed rerelease at all since it gives me more time to practice MKDS so that I can whoop up on y'all noobs who are waiting for it on WFC.

I love it.... although it does hurt my thumb holding down the A button in Mario Kart for long periods of time. But it really is the best handheld I've ever used/owned. I can actually see what's going on (no squinting, headaches, or needing perfect lighting) and the games are as entertaining as anything on the home consoles. If it gets a bit better I honestly feel it'll make home systems obsolete for me.

To be honest, I don't think the GBA SP2 has been released in Japan.

I was at EB last nite, and I thought it would entertain me if I asked the whole group of employees there if they heard about a redesigned DS. Manager spoke up and said that it was Lik Sang's poor reputation for bad rumors, and that it was likely Lik Sang's internal "modification department" planning hacked redesigns for resale. Also that they had already did a redesigned Dreamcast before Sega sued them. Entertained was I after I heard that. :loco:

DS may be a shitbrick with horribly dreadful buttons but awfully innovative games and a personality that sticks to you.

PSP is a sexy supermodel you want to eat up, but she won't let you get beyond 1st base, and has a very shallow personality to boot.
