Marvel vs Capcom 2 kit. Worth the money?

I really really want to buy this kit for a new machine. Arcade Shock's selling it for $700 something.... it comes with the kick harness, Naomi, cart, all the marquees, a Capcom I/O, buttons joysticks... everything. Is this not worth it? I've seen people trying to sell the cart alone for $175... the I/O for about the same, not to mention all brand new art, buttons, kick harness and so on.

So, would you say this is worth the price, or can I find a brand new kit with all this anywhere else?

Personally, I'm not a huge fan of MvC 2, so I'd say no. But if you've already got 3rd Strike, Super Turbo kits, and a bunch of MVS carts, it might be a worthwhile purchase. If I were you, I'd just try to find a used kit.

My goal is to get the most popular fighters made. I have VF evo, trying to get Super Turbo, I've got Vampire Savior, SF2, and I'd like to add MvsC2 just because it was, and still is, popular. Plus, I do like the game.... I'll see what I can find on ebay, perhaps.

Please excuse the newb question i am about to ask, but is the DC version not as good as the arcade version, seems like ud save tons of money by JAMMAtizing a DC for this game.

I see - that's a worthwhile goal I guess. I guess my main problem with MvC 2 is that people seem to use the same characters, making me believe that the game is a little on the unbalanced side. It is a riot to play though.

I bought that exact kit from ArcadeShock in December, so I would say it was worth it (I guess I'm biased though). Everything was mint and in actual Capcom boxes. I did wait until he ran a 15% off promo special so I ended up saving some nice cash on the deal. You may want to check to see if he would still honor that deal. I know he was advertising specials again in January on some MVS stuff, so he might include the Naomi stuff as well.

Two problems with that. One, it's NOT as good. Two, I want the original hardware. I would still need to get the expensive equipment to do that sort of thing, and I would want the marquee, move list, and all to make it complete.

Namco Sells MVC2 CABS for $700

With beat to hell monitors, and who knows what condition everything else. It's not worth it to me, as I want a nice MINT copy of this game. Thanks however. I thought about that... they sell them for less than that, even. Thanks however...

I always thought from my experiance of playing both that they were exatly the same.

Coinopexpress although always overpriced it seems still has it cheaper: http://www.coinopexpress.com/products/pcbs/naomi_i___ii_rom_board/Marvel_Vs_Capcom_2_201.html

But yeah, obviously that kit isn't Brand New. I think Trieu is also listing a BRAND NEW US Super Turbo kit very soon as well, might want to keep your eyes open on that. To find such an old game in new kit form is pretty damn good.

Doesn't come with the Capcom I/O, which I also want/need. So, Vihn's is a better deal.

I didn't realise that. Yeah, Vinh's is definetly the better deal... only got 2 left, I'd be ready to pounce on one of them once that sale comes on. I know I will be ready to secure myself a few things as well.

No, they're not. There are gameplay differences, some characters' combos don't work in the DC version - check shoryuken.com forums for details.

Some missing animations and lesser sound.... but the DC version isn't terrible, for sure.

Imo the kit on arcade shock doesn't seem like that bad of a buy considering you get a capcom !/O with it which is normally really expensive by itself. Plus the kits are brand new and that would just be awesome to own a brand spanking new MvsC 2 kit. If you have the extra money I would say go for it. :buttrock:

I was looking at that kit earlier today, and I agree, if you've got the extra green go for it. Just remember to keep the button mashers away

Get it if you can, full Naomi kits like that are very hard to come by, if your rich get both & keep 1 untouched.

P.S hows the hunt for the Euro evo artwork coming along Spike?

I've got one being held for me right now. It's as good as mine. Now I need to put this in a high res cab. Will use a low res one for now... unless... what's everyone here recommend for this game? High res or low?

I assume that's.... low res? Little help? I guess I could just toss this in my VFevo machine to see what it looks like in high res, then throw it back in my Super machine to see low and compare for myself.... but it would be nice if someone had feedback before I got it. If you notice, he only has one left, cause one is now MINE! :mr_t:
