Why is it taking so long for Metroid Prime Hunters and the New SMB to come out?

Hunters looks to be a dissapointment. SMB had better be fun.
I strongly disagree. Did you play the demo? I thought it had awesome potential, and the new screens I've seen only add to this. I can't wait for it.
But then again, I'm a biased Metroid fanboy :kekeke:

The very fact that it has taken so long suggests quality issues, to me. I can't see Ninetndo allowing it out without them being fixed, though, so the final product should be okay.

Adding online play was a big reason for the delay. This game was originally supposed to be local wi-fi only but has since been changed so it can access Nintendo's larger wifi network.

It looks alright, but I really hope they have a good alternative control system. The touch control scheme from the demo made me wanna shoot myself in the face...

Whoa, back up.

I thought Hunters was a multiplayer game only, since when does it have a single-player campaign?

And who is developing the game? Retro?

New SMB will probably be good too, I just wish they would've stuck with sprites.

It hasnt come out because nintendo spaces out good releases for continued sales of the ds console and to maintain interest. Developement issues have something to do with it but I think timeline is key.

MarioKart, animal crossing for christmas, New system to spark renewed interest in the drought period, new games coming out just after the drought period. Does this not make sense?

Yes, it will have a SP campaign. It's not by Retro, but Retro is somewhat involved to guaratee cohesion with the series. That's what an onld IGNCube interview stated.

MP: Hunters looks like a playable FPS to me, and that's saying something because I detest FPS. The control scheme is a winner.

Did they even bundle the demo with newer DSs?

I believe there were 12 control schemes avail in the options. Not sure on the exact figure but there were quite a few.

If those weren't ready for Christmas, why release them until spring? We all know that in the first three months of a year games tend to be a bit thin on the ground. It's why we get 0-effort stuff like the GBA Castlevania double pack (still appreciated, tho - now do a Symphony of the Night update on PS2 - better loading and filtered graphics'd be fine).

I'm wondering why Super Princess Peach isn't out - it's been out for months in Japan but it feels dumb to import it now.

I don't understand any negative comments in this thread. Twilight Princess isn't out yet, should we complain or say it has quality issues? or would one just assume IT'S NOT FUCKING DONE YET?. Wow, atleast let them meet their given fucking release dates before jumping to conclusions.

I will shit my pants if they ever announce a new 2-D Metroid. If 2-D CV will sell well on the DS, why not 2-D Metroid?

I'd complain if Nintendo actually meet their deadline for a game release...because that would be unlike them to do so just look at Twilight Princess. :emb:

Hunters looks like shit, the only thing it looks to have in common with the Metroid series is in name only.

Thanks for that thoughtful analysis.

I think most will find Hunters a worthy Metroid game. At least for those who liked the 3-D ones on GC anyway. Multiplayer is seriously going to kick some ass. This is what WIFI Mario Kart should have been.
