Well in my Storyboarding class on Wed. I kind of realized that I need to work on drawing the body in different angles and positions.

Are there any action figure you guys could suggest with good articulation for this? I really dont want to buy one of those wooden ones since they are a tad expensive.

I use pictures of mself or pictures of other people as models, it's cheap easy and works the best for me, just use a digi cam and get someone to snap a photo. I know I'm weird but this stuff works pretty well for me.

If you know how to work with some 3D model creation program, you may be able to download existing human 3D model data to your computer, open it up with a 3D viewer, set the angles that you want the body parts to be in, take a snapshot and print it out, then draw the picture based on that print.

Bah. Too complicated.

Actually I hadnt thought about that. Posing it would take a little bit of time, but it wouldnt cost anything and I know how to do it.

Still though, any figures that would fit the bill? Maybe like the Spider-Man movie figure or something.

I remember a friend of mine showed me this Spiderman figure with an insane amount of joints and he recommended it for poses and shit.

I think it was this one but I never really got around to buying it, so I don't know if it was really good.

Just buy a mirror and do the poses yourself.

Works for me when I'm animating.

Microman figures work for me. They're very highly articulated little figures just a tad smaller than GI Joes.

Just search for "microman material force" on eBay and I think you'll find what you're looking for.

... and they're fun to play with too. :D

You know what works well for me is not action figures, but magazines. Anything pertaining to sports or bodybuilding has all sorts of cool poses and perspectives.

National Geographic helps also.

Don't use wooden models man- go with creative drawing ala George Bridgeman. I always had an easy time in life drawing- cause I knew how to imagine a body like little Lego pieces.

Really- Bridgeman is great.

Trust me
