I picked up my copy today and damn its hot! Only thing I'm a little dissapointed with is the fact that there are no extras included in the double pack. Oh well I guess I can't complain about the two best GBA games on one cart brand new for $35. I highly reccomend picking one up if you don't already have Aria and Harmony.

Have they changed or tweaked anything regarding actual gameplay?
ie, fixed glitches or whatever?

I received my copy today. I like the instruction manual covering both games. Why did they put two copies of the instruction manual in the box though? Or was that just mine?

The gameplay has not changed at all afaik. Thats crazy that you got two manuals, mine only had one it it. Anyhow, this game rocks, get it new while you still can. I predict this will go for $100+ on fleebay in about 1-2 years.

I don't think the price on this will increase. Maybe the originals, but not this.

Agreed.
I think collectors will see the double pack as viable only if you actually want to PLAY the games.

I'm thinking of buying this and then selling my copy of Aria. I can't afford to be a completist any more :D

Yea I've been trying to track down HoD and CotM these past couple weeks. Average price on a used but 'complete' copy of HoD is about $35. Some people are trying to sell sealed copies for between $50 - $150. AoS seems a bit less. CotM however can be had for about $15 from what I'm finding.

Interesting. Its like I realize Castlevania games like Rondo and SotN have been very desirable but man, is the 2D Castlevania market heating up a bit even further? Perhaps since Konami's 2nd 3D PS2 offering, fans are getting sick of it all and restocking their 2D Castlevania fix or something.

EDIT: Found this gem of an auction. Some guy is selling an almost complete North American Castlevania collection here:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=8252055479&fromMakeTrack=true

I'm watching this one. Not gonna bid but be very curious to how high it will go.

Seems ok. He won't get an insane amount though. His games are not
complete, if they were complete with manual box and all he could probably
make a killing. He's missing X for the SNES btw.

Selling that as a set seems silly to me. It's going to be collectors that are mostly interested in a large set like that, but then collectors aren't going to want a bunch of shit that looks like a flea market score.

Anyone buy a copy of this at Circuit City? Got me a coupon for $15 off any purchase of $100 or more, but the Castlevania Double Pack isn't listed at all on their website.

I agree with what has been said. I think the double pack will be purchased by people that want to play it. This would also allow people to keep the original versions complete/sealed if they want them for their collection.

I don't own the originals anymore, so I bought the double pack to play them. I was not going to open mine right now but it felt kind of heavy and there was a lot of movement in the box. So...this is when I opened it up to find the extra instructions.

Just picked this up so I finally have HoD after missing it the first time around.

This happen to anyone else? It came with one manual that covers both games, but the cover was on upside-down/backwards, so the AoS-side cover was in front of the HoD-side manual, and vice versa. No big deal, but weird.

I hate how people call SOTN rare all the time, yet whenever I see it, complete even, GameStop and EBGames don't sell it for over $20. SOTN's not a rare game at all; Chronicles, on the other hand...supposedly that had a print run of 10,000.

I was thinking of buying this double-pack, then I remembered I didn't think Dawn of Sorrow was that great. Iga's run Castlevania into the ground, what with this 3D shit and these fucking Metroidvanias, the series is a shadow of its former self...give me Chi no Rondo over any of Iga's stuff anyday.

Has anyone used the double-pack in conjunction with Dawn Of Sorrow?

Does it give the Rare Ring?

Or anything?

I bet the double pack will still go for some decent money in a few years.

I can't beleive how much the GBA classic version of Super Mario is going for!
