I have to admit, the DS is slowly building a nice library of titles. I could not care less for the touchscreen/dualscreen bullshit, but with the prospect of more Castlevanias, Secret of Mana, a new Megaman franchise + Advance Wars, Mario Kart and Animal Crossing (which has me intrigued to say the least), I may actually get one when the inevitable re-designed version hits shelves.

The DS gets a brand new franchise and the PSP is stuck with remakes of NES/SNES games.

:annoyed:

I hated Megaman Zero and this doesnt look to be much different.

Why cant they just continue the original Megaman.

Im not. Im just not very happy with the style changes theyve put into Megaman since the NT series.

Who knows it might be great.

PS. He is standing like a huge homo as Megaman about 2 down.

I think it's two different characters, a boy and a girl.

And I liked the Zero series.

It's different enough to be a different game than the regular Megaman or X, but it still feels like Megaman when you get to the actual missions.

The top character is Van, the boy, and the bottom is El, the girl. For first time ever, Rockman (Megaman) will feature a female protagonist as well, says the announcement.

Oh. My. God.

This is the first I've heard of this. I'm a massive fan of the Megaman Zero series, and this is just one more reason to own a DS.

Zero series was too unforgiving in my experiences.

True, but that's what I loved about it. As much as I love Mega Man, most of the games in the series are pretty easy.

Although I will definitely agree that the first Zero game had some very poor level design, i.e. blind jumps, etc.

Yeah, Zero 1 was really annoying for me, 2 was a step up but still not perfect, 3 got most of the stuff right except a few stages I couldn't get past, and 4 is probably my favorite of the bunch.

I second that. I miss the days of Wily and good ol rush and the blue bomber. Simpler times.

Although the Zero series always gets progressiveley better, and are all fine games stand alone, I just hate to see all the missed potential they could've done with the story line, the level design, the boss battles, etc. It's really a shame--the Zero series would most definenteley be much more awesome on a console. And, the games aren't TOO difficult--only the original Zero, I feel, was needlessly cheap. Zero 2 and onwards have not really been THAT hard.

I hope that Inafune can pump some real innovation and gaming-goodness with this title, being on a technically superior machine and all, but I don't understand the reason of being able to TRANSFORM into X or Zero. X's main gameplay is based on his buster shot, Zero's main gameplay is based on his beam sabre. The Zero series handled a character with both weapons fairly well--why are they reverting to a binaristic model when they should really integrate the formula they're using? :oh_no:
