ogre battle for neo-geo pocket

i got a neo-geo pocket recently and one of the games i got for it was ogre battle.
i love this siries but my japanese isn't so well.
how do you get the 4 special characters (the knight w/lance, archer, light/dark priest) also how do you meet/get the 9 characters from the march of the black queen?
i have warren and lyon but cant find the others.

I think you may not be able to get all of them at the same time. like your chaos frame determines who will talk to you and join. Like for the weretiger and I think deneb you have to be evil...

Just a quick question: Is the NGP Ogre Battle game the same game as Tactics Ogre: Knight of Lodis on the GBA?

Or is it a different game?

no the gba game is a tactical version like "let us cling together" for famcom/psx.
the ngpc version is the battle type like ob64 and "march of the black queen" snes/psx.

i imported a guide but i know jack about kanji and lack a good translation book.

I would kill for a new Ogre Battle game.

it takes place befor "march of the bleck queen".
i don't know all that much about the story but you play as prince tristan.
you start out traning as a fencer i think 1/2 way threw you take 5 years off
and you play tristan as a general the last 2 stages he's a lord.
they added a few new clases and you can even fight a dragon tamer (not seen
here untill n64).

It's not an actual episode, just a side story.


There used to be a great Japanese website that had all the text translated, but it has been gone for a year or two now. If you've played March of the Black Queen it's pretty easy to figure out commands and beat the game, but you miss the great story of the OB games. I really wish this game got an english release.

All the games in the Ogre Battle Saga have such good stories.

Shame this side story never came outside of Japan. I would have liked to have played it (and understood it).

I'd love for a new OB or TO game.

In OB Gaiden, I've found some special items that can transform characters of a certain character class (depends on the item) into a more powerful class. I don't know if these new classes are obtainable by leveling up the characters, but I've played this game quite a bit and could never get these classes the usual way.

My army now has :

i think you get 4 clases from link battleing.
you may have to have beat the game too.
white oath - rep 80+ (play on date 12-25 ???) stagt 10 temple 1
black oath - rep <-20 (play on date 6-6 ???) stage 6 temple 1
gungnir - play 20 vs battles ??? (20+/60+/50+ crescent)
trooper - play 30 vs battles ??? (20+/60+/50+ silverKnigh)

some stuff i found out hope this helps everyone

you can get the knight with lance by going the (law) rought (after stage 7 do stage 9 the boss is a mage not the samuri) and becoming a lord (should happen in last stage) and just recruit one.

you can get the holy/bane Priests by going to the places listed above on the data listed (change ngpc date) with the right rep. and just recruit them.

archer - don't know at this time.

secret stage 1 - in stage 3 find hidden town strait up from starting base at top of board between last montin and water.

secret stage 2 - after stage 6 goto top board just hit A when asked question.

secret stabe 3 - after sage 10 goto stage 2 hidden town on island diagonal (south/west) from start (piramid like island) then goto stage 3 temple 1 farthest one from start on island alone then goto stage 10 2nd town from top strait up from start youll get a love&peace and 30,000.

secret stage 4 - stage 11 town strait up from start on island with mountin.

bakim the warewolf (Boss) - secret stage 1 kill him with aquarius the claric (she joins in stage 3 comes with 2 other clarics)
warwolfs - let bakim kill a fighter at night.

goldy the amazon - stage 7 hidden town top right of board end of path leading right (joins for 10,000)

orozov the ninja master - stage 8 have goldy go to town across the bridge (not the one strait up from start)

yoraif the paladin - stage 9 town strait up from enemy base between forest and river.

gloth the samuri master (Boss) - stage 8 beat board with less than 54 Rep.

grant the mage - stage 10 have yorkraif goto town farthest bottom/right from base.

kiros the tiger man (Boss) - stage 10 have tristan (your main guy) with less than 59 Ali when you beat the board "answer B".

hayato the samuri - secret stage 4 town strait down from start on island by temple (joins for 50,000)

you can find yulia's letter by fighting ice giants in the water of free battle 2 you'll get a cats tung or the letter for each kill.

Conopus - Must have Gilbert.find him roaming free battle 1-3.you must beat him for him to join.

Ares - find him roaming free battle 1-3.you must beat him for him to join.

Archer & Trooper - Can be found roaming free battle 1-3.you must beat them and they will join.

You can have las and warren at same time.
right now i have eveyone but deneb and the lord on 1 game.

anyone who loves the oger battle games if you have the jap. vertion of mach of the black queen theres 6 new boards
if you get deneb you can fight a holloween boss.
i think if you get saraden you fight a Demon boss.(class lower then devil boss gaulf)
i think if you get the dragoons from stage alpha & bata you fight a mage boss.(1 hit all spell from back row)
get all the zodiac stones fight a vampire boss.
Enter サ-ジェム as your name fight a tiamat boss you also get both lords.the 2nd one joins when you liberat 1 of the towns.

to get the now boards game must be for the saturn i don't know if the other vertions have them but i don't think so.
