Sto imparando la lingua italiana e ora, io non capisco questa frase:

rottura di scatole

Mi potete aiutare?

I know my italian sucks but I try my best to improve it with Monkey Island in italian :p.

i'll try to explain with my poor english.

Example: you drive your car, but there's a traffic jam, in that case you could exclaim "rottura di scatole" cuz the situation (traffic jam) bother you.

When something or someone bother you the exclamation "rottura di scatole" is right, i hope you understand my explanation.

If you'd like some other bit of explanation, here I am.

You'd probably know 'romprere le scatole' literally means 'breaking the boxes', right?

Of course the whole expression is a pun inbetween 'boxes breaking' and 'balls breaking'.

IE

"Non rompermi le scatole!"
(Don't break my boxes)
(Don't break my ballz)

Is it clearer now?

There's even the 'rompiscatole' (boxbreaker) word, used as an adjective to describe a very teating/bothering person. :)
