Just wanted to post some pics of my newly finished dreamcast to jamma convertor. This will be going inside my Showcase 33 later but I have connected it to my New Astro City for now. I used a Mad Catz and official Sega controller. The box used was an old 3.5" floppy disk box that I had laying around. It was a perfect fit for my application so that I can change the VMUs with ease. As always, questions and comments are welcome.

Thats a very nice setup, I like that you used an old storage unit. What a way to recycle. If you dont mind me asking how much did it cost to do all this. PM me if you dont want to post it. Anyway it looks great.

Powerstone 2 is better than 1 in my opinion. Mostly because of the more active / interactive backgrounds / environments.

What are you using for video? A VGA box, a SCART cable, or something else?

so its sot of like powerston 1.5 or something, more of an upgrade than an actualy game. thats good to know because i was going to buy it but your posts made me think otherwise. thanks.

Lime2K: The video is being supplied by a SCART cable and the video sync is being stripped from the composite signal via a LM1881N.

As for Powerstone 2, it is indeed much better than Powerstone 1. It really shines as a multi-player game. Thanks for the feedback.

Heh, what a coincidence. I'm just beginning a project like this. Except I'm going to build an enclosure that holds the system in so that all the plugs, etc. are covered but the CD tray is still able to be opened without any hassle. Where'd you get your JAMMA edgeboard?

Are you just plugging the DC into the wall? I have read that leaving the 5V from the PSU can damage it, but have also read that is not true.

Currently, the DC is connected directly to the wall. I will wire in a relay later so that power will turn on the DC via the seperate AC outlet when I turn on my cab. This setup will protect the power supply on my cab.

niiiiiiiiiiice

PS1 is better than 2, IMO

there was a different feel to the game all together

I will say though, if you have 4 people over, PS2 can be a lot of fun

but for one or two player mayhem, I'll go PS1 over 2 any day of the week

It took me about 2 days, the hardest things is to find the right material and tools.

racecar, this convertor takes many hours to complete. Alot of detail was put into this convertor that you cannot see in the pics. The wire connections to the jamma figerboard are connected via a couple of AMP connectors located beneath the controllers. This type of connection will allow me to disconnect the Dreamcast controllers and video cable and reconnect another console's controller pads and SCART video cable so that it will become a type of universal jamma convertor. It was not difficult to source the materials and in fact I have a surplus of these materials so that I could make more DC2Jamma convertors if I wanted to.

Somthing this interchangeable is awesome. You've got spare parts, will you be making more?
