Atomiswave owners, a little help?

My forum search doesn't work right now so sorry if this has been posted before. I just got an AW and NGBC (great game btw). Until I can get a nice permanent home for it I just stuck it in my big red. Everything works fine except when I try to change the button configuration. No matter what I change it to, when I start up the game it resets to default, everything else I've changed has saved like the region, time/date and all that. I'm sure its just something simple that I'm missing, anyone know what it is?

well might as well make something out of this thread. None of the arcades around here would probably even consider getting NGBC but I've seen what I think was medium res (for one of those shooting games) but that was some time ago and when I think about it now nothing big stands out. Low res has been pretty nice I think. I guess I'd have to play ngbc itself to get a good idea.

AW can be set to low and hi-res, but not medium. Notice that the 2D games should look better in low than in hi-res.

About your problem, I never had it so I don't know what's going on. Some people has complained about the AW not saving anything of the config, but this is the first time I hear it only saves some of the data, which is weirder.

Hmm, I wish I could help, but if you've seen my own AW thread, you'll know I'm a noob too. While I got you here, is your manual in every language but English too? Why do you want to change the buttons anyway? Does your monitor display everything all right, if nothing else?

C'mon guys, help us AW-loving greenhorns out. We need you! *sob*

Again sorry to ask off topic questions but thanks for answering them. So it is not that important to have a high res monitor for the atomiswave unless you want to play 3-d games correct?

Dolphin Blue and Demolish Fist look better in hi-res, but they are perfectly good in low-res too. Neowave and Knights of Valour look like ass in hi-res, and I assume the other SNKP fighters do but I haven't tried them yet.

I once tried my AW in my friend's old low-res cab and it was extremely bright, so colors were wahsed out. It's common for the AW, you have to try to lower your cab brightness control if it has it, or try some resistors in the R, G, B lines.

Assuming you're talking about the AW manual, I don't know what to tell you there cuz I got mine board only, but my NGBC manual is spanish which is kinda weird. I want to change the buttons because the default is like this-
A: LP
B: HP
C: tag
D: LK
Select game button: HK
And by now I'm pretty used to having my hand all over the place to play but it would certainly be nicer to have HK down where it usually is.

Having only played NGBC on my cab I can't say much about how 3D is. Although one or two stage backgrounds are 3D and I think it looks fine even though I don't have anything to compare it to. Everything else looks good to me.

Also thanks to Amano for pointing out that AW doesn't do medium, clearly I'm a genius :chimp:

mhmm so generaly the consensus seems to be that you dont' realy need high res for pleasurable AW gaming. is there realy any hardware out right now that high res is realy good for?

Naomi, of course. Except for the 2D games like Capcom vs SNK, but most of the games are 3D and they really benefit from the hi-res.

NGBC looks absoulutly terrible in high res :(

I had the problem you were having, it would'nt save my button conigs. I put another game in booted it and then turned it off and put NGBC back in so it went back to defaults after that it was fine.
