I've been noticing lately that several people have been talking about the whole aes/phantom-1 vs mvs supergun setup, and I personally think the phantom-1 is completely worthless. I'm finishing up my semester and my summer job doesn't start for a few weeks. So I was wondering if there would be any interest in me making a few superguns for people looking to get into MVS. It would be a small setup, probably just a little bigger than a gamepad controller with an rgb-ntsc converter with s-video and rca out, audio out, 2 neo geo controller ports, and an external power supply. If anyone has any interest in purchasing anything such as this, let me know via PM. I don't have a price set on this, but it would definetly be cheaper than you might think. I need something to do for a few weeks before my job starts and I really think that MVS is the way to go when it comes to neo gaming. If this is the wrong forum for this or posts of this nature are looked down upon, feel free to move this post or delete it. Pictures of my proto supergun can be provided upon request.

Well, kudos to you, my friend!

I already have a supergun, but I think this is exactly what many people here need: a reliable way to get into Neo gaming without having to pay astronomic amounts for inferior setups, like GW's supergun.

I'd like to see a pic if you don't mind. Also, would you be able to make a 2-slot MVS supergun?

heres the link to the pics
I dont have my dremel tool here currently, so this one was done with electrical tape. Clearly the one I would be making would be done with no tape and it would use screws, etc, so this is a very early prototype. As planned so far, the front will have the 2 ports, the rca jack will be replaced with a headphone jack on the front or just removed, and there will be an led on the front. The one side will have the s-video/rcavideo out and audio out jacks. The other side will have the power out and a power switch. The back will have the jamma connector. Its currently set up also with the power connector on a wire sticking out. That will be replaced with a panel jack hopefully so there will be nothing sticking out. The final one will also be slightly longer than this one. This one has been made to go to a monitor instead of having the rgb-ntsc converter. Like I said, this is a very early prototype. The final one would have no tape and be very neatly done. The power supply that I am currently using has been tested and works on my 1 slot mvs board along with my sf2 board. However, to keep this thing cost effective, it will be made for the sole purpose of hooking it to a 1 slot board. i could probably also add a button for people looking to use it on a 2/4/6 slot board as well. Im gonna start by making 5 of these and then well see how it goes from there. I dont have the money to put up for parts for any more than 5. Right now its looking like the price of these will be somewhere in the neighborhood of $175 plus shipping. This kind of all depends on what i can get some of the parts such as the enclosure and things of that nature for. The interest for these seems to be high enough for me to embark on this project, so Ill order up the parts tomorrow and take it from there. The parts should arrive right as my finals are finishing up so hopefully ill have the first 5 ready within 2 weeeks.

Nice work, that doesn't look too shabby at all. :)

Get rid of the duct tape and it looks pretty decent.

If you could make the gun compact in size and solid enough to last for many years, I might be interested in buying one from you in the future.

I'm just too lazy to take the time to make one of my own... frown
