Why are you asking that I get banned? I was simply pointing out that the guy selling this MK2 PCB is calling it an MVS board. I thought it was funny so I shared....

Don't be a douche. Bill is a cool guy. It is funny that this guy thinks MKII came out on MVS. It might also be a good topic because, you may want to rethink dealing with this particular seller.

Yeah this guy has tons of MVS stuff on ebay. I'd definately think twice before I bought any games off of him.

I just about bought a board from this guy when I was first getting into Neo Geo, but I thought better of it. He seems very shady to me...

I've seen posts like this before. The seller knows thats it is not a MVS cart, but threw in MVS into the title so that we would see his auction when we do a search for MVS. Enough said.

If I'm not mistaken, gwgat on eBay = Great Western Trading (http://www.gwtrading.com)

The locations are the same.

I'm curious if they just pulled some retard in off the street to do these auctions - there's a number of non-MVS things listed with MVS in the title, non-JAMMA stuff listed as JAMMA, and rampant idiotic mispellings (for example, Sumurai Showdown).

It's my personal opinion that if you aren't selling a JAMMA PCB (or some other explicitly JAMMA component, you shouldn't have JAMMA in your title.

STV, PGM and MVS carts are not "JAMMA cartridges". Realisitically, JAMMA has nothing to do with them - it doesn't matter if you have a JAMMA cabinet or not, if you don't have the MVS, STV or PGM board, you can't use the carts.

Non-JAMMA boards don't need "NOT JAMMA" in the title.

Heck, I even found a JAMMA PCB the other day that the idiot seller put "MVS NEO GEO" in the title.

eBay has a policy about keyword spamming: http://pages.ebay.com/help/policies/keyword-spam.html

I'm getting frustrated when I'm searching specifically for MVS carts or JAMMA PCB's and finding non-MVS and non-JAMMA stuff in there.

If reported, eBay will, at minimum, cancel listings for people who keyword spam, for example:

NOT JAMMA
LIKE JAMMA
SIMILAR TO MVS
BETTER THAN MVS
etc.

I'm about ready to spend a Saturday doing nothing but reporting the far too numerous violations in what I'm looking for.

Anyone who really knows what a Neo Geo AES or MVS is doesn't really need to search for an AES cart, and have the title say "Metal Slug AES Cartridge NOT MVS!", or vice versa, "MVS, NOT AES!".

If I'm searching for JAMMA boards, I don't need a hundred "NOT JAMMA!" boards to show up.

If enough of us report the violations, it might actually make these morons stop, and clean up the listings for us.

Correct you are my friend. I have bought a couple of MVS games from them off of ebay. Quick, well packaged, and great condition.

Anyway they generally throw in MVS to get your attention. If you are looking for MVS on ebay, then you might potentially be looking for other arcade mobos.

He probably just put MVS so if you search for MVS this will pop up to.

Really? did you have to bump this thread just to post that? And btw check out the description of the board. He doesn't say it's MVS again, he just fucked up on the title or did it on purpose. I mean this seller has a shop on ebay, i'm pretty sure he knew it wasn't MVS.

I have dealt with him, he is a tard.

I bought MOTW from him and shipping said $4 and he said no shipping is $9.99+$4 but he worded it "$9.99 is for shipping cost and $4.00 is for shipping cost" he pissed me off, I could just gotten it from ju707 when I bought Super dodge and Shock troopers. Then he sends an email saying it will be shipped Fed Ex, then retracts his statement and says USPS priority the next day. Never again with gwgat. Ever.

This is incorrect. All of these carts are indeed "JAMMA cartridges". You have to have a JAMMA compatible mobo to use them, so realistically JAMMA has everything to do with them. If you care to look at the edge connector of any MVS board you will see the word "JAMMA". I'm not sure about this with PGM and ST-V, but I'd imagine it to be the same.

Incorrect.

Only the single slot boards (and not all single slots, at that) are JAMMA.
MVS standard is different: 4th fire button, game select button and stereo sound.

Regardless of whether or not the motherboards (1-slot, 2-slot, 4-slot, 6-slot, eleventybillion-slot) are JAMMA or not, the cartridges flat are NOT.

You cannot plug an MVS cartridge into a JAMMA harness, hence, it ain't JAMMA.

If one were to advertise their mobos as JAMMA, that's one thing - the cartridges are MVS cartridges, not JAMMA cartridges.

I'm fully aware that the motherboards are JAMMA (or close to it), and that the carts plug into the boards.

This guy, and others, are using the JAMMA "buzzword" in order to attract sales to their items. It's wrong, it's annoying, and they need to stop.

If someone builds an adaptor to play MVS carts on an AES system, is it then acceptable to advertise "JAMMA" on an AES system?

Yes, you are sort of right. I should not have said all mobos as the multislots are not JAMMA standard. As far as I'm aware all 1-slot boards have "JAMMA" printed on them just behind the edge connector. JAMMA can support up to 4 buttons, so that isn't strictly an MVS thing. Only the Game Select button and stereo sound are MVS exclusive features.
