I was just reading an interview with Falcoon (in french/neo-arcadia) and there where interesting bits of info such as; a new NBC may be made depending on how well it does on PS2, work on KOFXII has just begun and

when asked about the possibility of there being a new MOTW he stated that a 70% build of the game existed - created by old SNK - and they where contemplating on wether or not to release it.

so there you go. not sure if anyone else had read this interview or knew that a sequel to Mark of the Wolves had been in the works and far into production - and this as fact not silly bs proto speculation and rumour.
cool stuff no?

Look I am all for a New NGBC and a MOTW2, but if MOTW2 is 70% then that is all old MVS quality sprites. I want hi res, hi frames of animation.

There is a perfect vehicle for SNKP to use to release their old/current/future games on now. They could reach a whole new fan base, new 2-d fanatics, new blood into some of the greatest Ip's ever....Xbox360's Live Arcade. With the XBL arcade, they could pour all their money into development and would not have to worry about production, because everyone would just dl it. Imagine a 100% brand new MOTW2(no rehashed anything) for 20-30 usd that you dl'd over xbox live. I think SNKP would benifit tremendously from XBL arcade

Yeah, someone posted it in english on s-c also. It's interesting, but like ajk said, they'd need to do a lot of work on it bringing it over to whatever hardware they decide to end up on.

Seeing SNKP's recent games, I at least feel a litlle more optimistic about the possible results than I would have a couple years ago.

I seriously don't know why people want better graphics in fighting games, the graphics don't matter.
I would love a sequel to MOTW even if it's going to look like an MVS game, tell me what's wrong with the graphics on the Neo?

Gimme MOTW2!

What's wrong is that people won't play it, SCEA won't let them bring it to their console, so they won't make any money off it, and they'll go out of business again. But at least the 200 or so of us will be happy. Great plan.

Some people forget the Neo games had incredible graphics in '93, '94, '95... People say "who cares about graphics", but we all had a little graphics whore in us back in those days.

Of course everyone knew a MotW sequel was clarely planned by old SNK just for ANY character ending in the original hinted to a sequel. Ya know, "this story has not yet ended". Cool.

I just dream another MVS release, fuck the rest.

But point is, there's no one in the whole SNK-P building even close to be able to complete such a quality work as a MotW sequel created by the old SNK. Sad but true.

I didn't plan anything and I never did, it was just my opinion that the graphical quality of SNK's fighting games are at a fine level and doesn't really need to go any further.

Now i'm not saying that I don't care about graphics at all because graphics do make me go wow.
But honeslty I just want motw2 more than any game SNKP has announced, even if it means MVS graphics.

If they released even a 70% done version of MOTW2 on MVS hardware I would die and go to heaven.

Graphics on Neo are fine, it's ten year old neo graphics on new consoles that is wrong.

Go MOTW2 with high res backgrounds, low res characters and 10 second load times before matches, hoorah! :chimp:

i'd rather the old 70% build rather than a playmore revision.
NEO wave is sharpened and it's boring.
i'm waiting on NGbc

This is why we'll never see anything other than the same ol' sprites, folks. The fact is: it can go further, there's just no market for highly detailed 2d games. SNK did superb things with the Neo in '94 when they released games like Samurai Shodown 2. However, if they had decided to work with more powerful hardware when it came time to create MOTW, we would've seen nothing less than a pure masterpiece. Sure, it really pushes the Neo probably more than any other game has, and it still looks great, but you give an artist more paints and a larger pallet to work with and you'll see the results pay off sevenfold.

Imagine MOTW with higher resolution sprites, even more frames of animation, and given more space to work with, more characters, and better quality music!

Let's not forget that redoing a large portion (i.e. new sprites, new backgrounds, etc.) of a 70% complete game would make it far less than 70% done, if you follow. And just releasing it now wouldn't be any good either, because most games at that level of development are farther from the finish line than the numbers would suggest.

But yeah, a real sequel to MotW... It's hard to imagine that even the same team could top that game without just rehashing it, so I say just bring it on. Who knows, it could wind up being another legend.

NEWS: Ass press

www.neo-geo.com falls down in a devastating earthquake this morning, Sammy opens new offices over the rubble to create new Pachinko games, a Japanese slotmachine that is a sensation across the land of the rising sun.

It is also reported that Sammy, makers of the popular Guilty Gear series will be developing said title exclusively for the remainder of their lifetime.

Sammy's lead designer reports, "Some old videogame called, Mark of the Coyotes: 2nd Real Bout will not be completed. People want urban fighting and rap music in their games. Our new Guilty Gear will have all the popular rappers of our time with guest commentary from Christina Augilera herself as the fighting announcer. Expect some GTA elements too when fighting from site to site while jamming yer tunes with your pimped out iPod. The Guilty Gear series will NO LONGER be in 2.5D. Will be available on Xbox 360 and PS3. Revolution will not get a release because Nintendo is clueless. And gay. You see, people don't want to play videogames anymore... they want to EXPERIENCE IT!"

Sad day indeed. :loco: :help:

I second this proposal.

Falcoon is the biggest blowhard ever, and he should thank his lucky stars that SNKP even gave his fat ass the time of day.
