Unmodified: composite video and RGB are the only video signals an AES outputs. Mods can be done to get s-video and component. Scart can carry composite and RGB. Note that some TV's require you to manually select the input as RGB rather than composite or require a voltage applied to a scart pin to switch the TV into RGB mode.

The voltage thing generally applies to older Scart TV's. Note that some scart TV's do not accept RGB (like some cheaper Teac's for example) and will only accept other video signals via scart (usually composite video, but also s-video and even component). And some displays do RGB via a connector other than scart. A Hantarex RGB monitor has a d-sub 9 plug for example.

Yes. Yellow being video, the other two audio of course. The yeloow carries composie video: red, green, blue, horizontal and vertical sync on one cable. Hence the poorer quality relative to RGB.

RF on an AES is like being an eunuch married to Angelina Jolie. A complete and utter waste.

eu·nuch Audio pronunciation of "eunuch" ( P ) Pronunciation Key (ynk)
n.

1. A castrated man employed as a harem attendant or as a functionary in certain Asian courts.
2. A man or boy whose testes are nonfunctioning or have been removed.
3. Informal. An ineffectual, powerless, or unmasculine man.

Get an RGB display. My preference is a Hantarex 28" wall cube. Industrial reliability and picture quality.

Video-wise, RF is all you need. Anything else is just being picky.

:spock:

Most people here spend hundreds of $ in AES games, don't you think that it is worth it to spend some dozens of $ more to have a better video output? RF is total crap.

Agreed. I never use anything other than RGB.

but RF is only ONE WIRE. No confusion! Just set the TV to channel four and GO!

After coming from an NGH running on a small 30cm tv with composite video onto a 68cm (29") RGB monitor in a cabinet, I'm dead set on staying with RGB.

Sure it was fun playing on the NGH but with everything transparent being rainbow colored...It's just annoying.
