I don;t think its KPN as when I play US games, the language is still in English but I can;t tell apart from that.

I would assume there was only 2 different versions JP and UK. One is NTSC and one is PAL.

I don't really think there was an actual US version unless the gold version counts for that. :help:

There was a US Neo•Geo system sold. It had the additional shielding to meet FCC requirements.

In addition, many games are censored when booted in the US bios.

I don't think the Neo-Geo was release in Europe, right? :conf:

Yes, with Euro only games that now fetch crazy prices, well in the US only.

It plys in English, so it's a toss up between usa & pal.

Do you use a stepdown?

Is the picture boardered (50hz)?

These arent 100% fool proof as pal can be easy modded to 60hz, but a start.

If it plays with english language, it's either pal or us. Now if you have games with full screen on your TV, it's NTSC so us version and if you have the black band on some games, it's a pal version.

Get Street Hoop/Slam and see where the teams are from, US or International.

in fact, there are 4 types of neo-geo :

- jap ( 60 Hz )
- us ( 60 Hz )
- euro ( 60 Hz )
- euro ( 50 Hz )

to know which one do you get, you have to test it with street hoops/dunk dream and watch your screen-title

street hoops => euro
street slam => us
dunk dream => jap
