NGCD jewelcases without "Neo Geo" imprint

Hello everybody, I have a small question:

I thought that all Neo Geo CD games had jewelcases with a small "Neo Geo" logo embossed on them, however I recently bought a bunch of factory sealed games, and two of them are missing the logo (Sonic Wings 2, Top Hunter).

I bought them at a videogame store closing up here in Aichi, Japan, and have no reason to believe the games were resealed. All the seals had the tear-off strip, the three other games all have the logo, and the jewelcases are exactly the same on all games, apart from the missing logo.

Can anybody confirm, whether certain Neo Geo CD were shipped without the embossed jewelcases?

Thanks!

They all should have the embossed little seal on the jewel case. All of SNK's operations were "in-house" meaning they owned the machinery that created the jewel cases with embossed logos so there would be no reason why your two games would be missing them unless the jewel cases were replaced by the proprietor or they are pirated copies.

I actually have bought a few sealed Neo CD games that didn't have the embossed logos on the case. Bought them from NCS. Maybe they ran out during production or something. I know Top Players Golf and Puzzled were two of them.

Indeed I think NGCD collectors can confirm that not all discs have the embossed logo. Meaning originaal versions, not pirate copies/re-seals.

The launch Fatal Fury 2 does not have it for example.

I have some Neo Geo CD's without it as well. My Samurai Shodown 1 and 2 do not. But my Metal Slugs do. I know for sure that all of them were factory sealed so Im assuming that not all of them were packaged with an embossed CD.

I have many neo cd games and all games without the logo were from Japan stores that were resealing the games. I don't think there is any new neo cd games with jewel case without the logo.

It's just not true, like I said the launch version (pack in game) of Fatal Fury 2 is not embossed, at least the pal version.

Ok, so it seems that way. But anyway when looking at neo cd games selling either on ebay or on this forum, the value of the game depends of the quality of case, instruction manual, cd and especially if there is the spine card or not. But the logo on the case is rarely mentioned as a selling criteria...

We have collected all Neo Geo CD games. We can confirm that some Neo Geo CD games have the embrassed logo on the case while some games do not. It appears that the eariler release do not have the logo on the case. For example, we have actually opened a brand new sealed Aero Fighters 2 (English, case have no logo) but the game is proven to be legit and new. Therefore, no logo = resealed or not legit is not valid.

OK, thanks for the info guys. As I suspected, it appears not all NGCD games were shipped with embossed logo jewelcases.
