I'm looking to pick up a nice Astro or Windy and would like to snag one locally and avoid shipping. Does anyone know of a seller that would be local to the San Fran Bay Area?

My van is pretty unreliable at the moment or else I'd just contact Matsu and take the 400 mile drive.

Can't say I have any advice for you myself, but I thought I might try and steal your thread:

I wanna buy one in Vancouver. That doesn't seem like it would be tough, as they're all over downtown arcades, and Richmond must have thousands of 'em. I don't have any contacts though, so I wondered if perhaps someone here would, or, failing that, could let me in on some kind of arcade-operator secret handshake I could use to gain contacts of my own.

I tried asking the kid at the local joint, but he told me to ask the manager... who I've never seen. Argh.

Water water everywhere, and ne'er a drop to drink.

Ford are you Gozur on KLOV? As for local Candy Cab sellers, I haven't found any in the Bay Area. There was a guy in Gilroy who was thinking of importing them but he was trying to charge close to $3000 for them (ouch!).

Yeah, I'd say the only folks lucky enough for a local candy cab sale would be in cali or NY. I had to pay $150 to ship mine, but from what i hear that's pretty good.

richardp171 sells Matsu's cabs, might as well contact Matsu directly.

Yes... I am. I've fixed the van and am now looking in the LA area for a nice score. It appears that Matsu / Paul Richard are out of cabs. Awaiting a new shipment.

You fixed the van already? That was fast! I thought you were moving to AZ? I'll keep my eyes open for an Astro or Windy and will let you know if I find anything.

I am moving to AZ but not until the new house is done being built. It could be 60 or 120 more days though. The builder really has no real hard timelines. The van is fixed and the wife is pissed... I ended up spending more money on the vehicle I was supposed to get rid of.

I'm sure the wife won't be too happy either if you bring home a new cabinet that you will have to drag with you to AZ :kekeke: Good luck with your search.

i thought you were moving awhile ago :loco: i thought i read in another thread that you deal with bill burger. he always has windy's for sale (even though he's a complete dickhead)

The house being built was delayed.

I've dealt with Bill plenty of times in the past. Unfortunately the last time I dealt with him he went a little schitzo on me and I've been having second thoughts. One time he did a little yelling at me in an email thinking i was TSmallz.. he's a whack job.

The purpose of the thread was to try and find a local unit but it looks like the drive is inevitable.

Same thing happened to me with Bill. I bought numerous of things from him but he suddenly lost it with me. He even gave me negative feedback accusing me of not paying when I filed a non-selling dispute on ebay. Total dickhead.

Wayne, I kind of gave up on the Space Harrier. To make a long story short, before I bid on the game, I asked the seller if he would allow NAVL pickup during the week. He agrees but then changes his mind AFTER the auction ends. That's when I tried to get you to pick it up. After that he contacted me once but he still had the same fucked up attitude so I'm basically taking it as a loss. 2005 was a bad year for me since so many arcade deals went bad on me.

people don't remember how long cali is. Matsu is an 8-9 hour drive, one way. 450+miles.....Nor-Cal folks still pay $150-200 for delivery, and sometimes tax :(

I bought my New Astro City w/ a 4 slot board from him too - great guy, he even hooked everything up for me. Highly recommended.
